“While I can’t find the slightest thing remarkable about the woman, my beta wants her. You will hand her over, and we may spare you a hostile takeover.”

“No,” King Alesi replied immediately.

“Why not? She is nothing but a piece of ass—easily replaceable if you ask me.”

“She is my prisoner.”

“Prisoner, huh? How many prisoners do you lay with?”

Luka leaned forward and stated clearly, “The answer is no.”

Prince Lykaon chuckled, placed his feet on the table, and laced his fingers in his lap. “I figured you’d deny my simple request. That is why I instructed my guards to retrieve her and take her to the dungeon.”

“You have no claim to her!” King Alesi roared.

“We shall see about—” Prince Lykaon paused mid-sentence and growled. “What did you do with her?” he asked accusingly.

“I did many things. Will you be more specific?”

“She is gone!”

“Gone?” Luka asked in disbelief. She was spent and wrapped tightly in the sheets and furs when he left her.

“Shift and find her,” Prince Lykaon demanded.

“With pleasure,” David replied with a sinister grin.

“Shit,” Ezra whispered when King Alesi relieved himself of his official robes and blocked the door with his body, ready for a fight.

Matilda snuck into the tavern unnoticed, or so she thought. Her hood was ripped from her head, and she didn’t have to guess who the perpetrator was. Oddly, it was their ritual.

“You run off for days without a word and try to slip in undetected. We have been worried sick about you,” Belzar grumbled.

“Worried? About me? You shouldn’t be. I’ve been protecting myself and this village for—”

Matilda stopped speaking when Belzar leaned in and sniffed her curls.

“You… you smell peculiar.”

“Peculiar how?” she asked, hoping he couldn’t smell the vampire on her.

“Your hair smells like vanilla and jasmine. The oils you used are of high quality. Where did you obtain such goods on your meager earnings, Tilda?”

“Belzar, I’m weary from my travels. I wish to rest.”

Matilda froze when Belzar’s meaty fingers grazed her neck.

“You’ve been bitten,” he mumbled quietly.

She tore away from him and ran up the flimsy staircase to the room she called her own. She secured the door behind her and faceplanted onto the bed.

“Ow,” she groaned into the mattress. Her hips and thighs ached, and her pussy throbbed. The non-stop horseback riding from Moonshire to Night Falls didn’t help either. She allowed her fingers to trail the raised bite on her neck and shivered. The memories of what she allowed King Alesi to do to her body were unforgivable. It only took a single bite for her to crawl into the arms of her sworn enemy. The thought made her stomach twist in knots, but her pussy pulse to life.

“It was a one-time occurrence,” she promised herself.
