I tense in his arms.

“Uhm, yeah. Sorry, Logan. Why are you asking me now?”

“Well, my girl is remembering things. Why is that? How can she possibly have her memory back? She’s not going to lose it again, is she?”

There’s a pause and I wait, so anxious to hear what he’ll say that I grind my teeth hard enough to give myself a headache.

“I didn’t think it was possible for her to regain her memory,” he says at last. “Did anything happen to cause it?”

“Well, yeah.” Logan glances at me uncomfortably. “The Puicin Gang injected her with some weird shit.”

“Did they tell you what it was?”

“Uh…” Logan kisses me before answering, “We kind of killed them before they could say anything. Though I do know the Prices had been dealing drugs to them. We figured it was Memoril, though...”

There’s a long pause, during which Logan winds his fingers distractedly in my curls.

At last, Campbell clears his throat. “So I guess the rumors were true. They did find the antidote. I didn’t think it was possible.” He pauses again before adding, “You know, when the Prices did something, they didn’t do it halfway. The antidote must work. And if that’s what the Puicin Gang injected into Lia... well, it seems likely her memory is here to stay.”

Logan turns to me, a happy grin on his face, and I can tell he’s just as relieved as me. “See, baby? I told you. Everything’s okay now. Everything will always be okay from now on.”

He pushes me down on his bed, his hands finding my wrists and pinning them above me on the mattress, before pressing his lips to mine.

“Now let’s get you that everything bagel,” he breathes against my neck.

Logan

Iwatch my baby devour her bagel, getting crumbs all over the bed, her fingers sticky with cream cheese.

She’s still naked, and I haven’t done a thing to clothe her. I watch her tits as they bounce and jiggle with every one of her movements, the rolls of fat on her stomach, the way she’s placed her legs so that they’re half-open, one of them draped over the side of the bed, the other one bent in a butterfly position, the heel of her foot inches from her pussy.

I’m jealous of that foot.

But I’m even more jealous of her mind that holds all the things I’ve missed out on for eighteen years.

No, not eighteen: my eyes widen when I see the date.

“Happy nineteen years, baby,” I whisper in her ear, startling her so much that she faceplants into her cream cheese.

“Logan!”

I lick the spread from her nose. “It’s been nineteen years since I last saw you.”

“I’m pretty sure you last saw me a few moments ago,” she teases, and I grin at the mocking tone that reminds me of the old Lia.

But she’s not the old Lia anymore: she’s a new Lia. A better Lia.

“You know what I mean, baby.”

“Yes, I do. And... oh!” She bites her lip. “That means I missed your birthday. I didn’t get you a present.”

I kiss her freckles. “Having you back—all of you—is the best present I could ask for. Anyway,” I add wryly, “I don’t have the best memory of your actual attempts at presents.”

“Well, it’s not that easy buying a present for...”

“For someone who has everything,” I finish.
