Nothing in life has prepared me for this, and I can’t fight it anymore. I close my eyes and sink into the ecstasy that starts at the base of my spine. It works its way up in time with her movements, each swivel of her hips and the grinding against my cock enough to send me over the edge.

I spiral out of control. I can’t see. I can’t hear. All I know is pure fucking bliss, and my orgasm hits me like a goddamn freight train. My legs shake. My hands hold her tight enough where I’m sure I’m going to leave behind bruises. My tongue is heavy in my mouth, and when I finally regain control of my body, I open my eyes to find Amelia grinning at me.

“I… that was… I haven’t—” I shake my head and collapse onto the pillows, bringing her with me. “God help me.”

“A little late to repent for your sins, Everett.” She brushes a lock of hair away from my forehead. “We’re probably going to hell.”

“I’ve always liked warmer climates.” I groan. “I don’t think I’ve finished in my boxers since I was seventeen. I do have some self-control when it comes to the bedroom, but you’re too damn sexy.”

“I can’t wait to see it next time.” Amelia rests her chin on my chest. “This was absolutely something I want to do again.”

“And again, and again, and again.” I run my fingers through her tangled hair. “Tell me you can stay the night.”

“My flight to Denver is in the afternoon, so I have all morning.”

“I’m keeping you here until the last possible second.” I kiss her again, softer this time. “And then I’m going to demand to see you as soon as possible.”

“Someone is needy.” She smiles. “Sounds like we’re about to have the time of our lives.”

I’ve been having the time of my life since the moment she sat at my table and ordered that slice of key lime pie, but now I’ve been catapulted to the stratosphere.

One night with her, and I’m ruined for anyone else.

FIFTY-FOUR

GE

Today has been busy as hell, and I’m just now getting a chance to check my phone.

Did you get back to Denver okay?

AG

I’m safe and sound!

I have a meeting with my agent tomorrow. The owner of the Sea Crabs followed up with an email this morning and let me know she understands if I want to finish the season out in Denver.

I think that’s what I might do. It would give me time to settle in with the players and staff without the media hounding us about games.

What do you think?

GE

This is your call, Lia. I’d probably wait until the offseason to make the big leap, but you’re so good at what you do, you’d adjust pretty quickly.

Whatever you decide, I’ll support you however I can.

AG

Thank you. That means a lot.

I miss you. I wish I could’ve stayed in DC longer.

GE

I miss you too. You’re back in March for a game, right?
