“Okay.” It’s all I can muster.

“Good.” She pats me on the knee. “I’m going to go round him up and get Frito back to his stall and we’ll call it a day.”

“Sounds good to me,” I say.

Seeing Luke happy makes me happy. It’s the first time I’ve seen a real smile from him since we moved here, and it’s all because of Georgia.

She keeps saying she never planned on having kids, hinting about her past, but she’s a natural with Luke. I know she’s going to be the same with our kid.

And the smile that’s been affixed on her face? I hope our kid looks like her.

I have no idea what the two of us are going to be or what the future holds, but I’m glad that we get to be a part of each other’s lives.

Because Georgia? She is someone I want to keep falling for.

I told Luke I’d bring him some of those chocolate chip pancakes

I’m glad you think that makes me a good dad

I’ve got a long day of classes and rides, so I’ll see you there

Can’t wait

Thinking about seeing Grant carries me through my morning lessons. It’s only been a few sessions with Maddie, but I can see her confidence starting to grow around the horses. She’s opening up more to me, and Janice has commented that she’s improving in her new home.

That’s the kind of thing I love hearing. I know how hard it is to adjust, especially when you aren’t placed in a good home. But her foster parents adore her and are hoping to adopt her.

She’s one lucky girl to have found such a good home.

Between typing up my notes from lessons this morning and rides later this afternoon, I keep scrawling away on my list for the baby.
