Morgan let out a soft chuckle. “Relax. My sister, Brooke, took these. She’s always been interested in photography. And my other sister, Claire, dressed me. I’d love to tell you I own all this lingerie, but most of it is hers.”

He released the tension in his body, his gaze zeroing in on one shot of Morgan in a dark purple, almost black silky number that made her look like a naughty witch. He was definitely up for some spellcasting.

“But you own some of these?”

She came to stand next to him to see which photo he was looking at. Instead of replying, however, she left the bedroom.

Sawyer peeked out into the living room to see her kneeling by the bag he’d dropped on the floor. A zipper sounded and when she stood, she waved that witchy scrap of fabric at him.

“Yes!” He pumped his casted fist in the air then curled his left index finger at her. “Get over here and get into that.” He pressed his hands together. “Please.”

Morgan sauntered over to him. “I’ll be happy to put this on, but wasn’t there some mention of a surprise for me?”

Sawyer snapped. “You know what? I forgot it back at Austin’s house.”

She used the lingerie to whip him. “You did not.” She held out her hand. “Now gimme.”

Laughing, Sawyer took her hand and tugged her over to the couch. He nudged her to sitting then reached inside his jacket which he hadn’t taken off before the photos had caught his attention.

When he held out an envelope to Morgan, her brows crinkled. No doubt she was thinking she’d done all this with the cottage, the photos, the lingerie—and that pole dancing she’d promised him—and all he’d gotten her was a dumb card.

He wiggled it at her. “Go ahead. Open it.”

She draped the lingerie over her lap and took the envelope from him as he sat beside her. She slid her finger under the flap and gently unfastened it. The card that came out was a deep red with a barely visible heart on the front. Above the heart it said My heart before I met you.

Morgan opened the card, letting its contents fall to her lap while she read the inside. A reflective heart filled the right side so her face was visible in the shape. The words above it read My heart after I met you.

Sawyer had scrawled the words You fill me, baby and he’d signed his name.

Morgan put her hand to her chest and looked up at him. “You fill me too, Sawyer. I love you.”

“I love you too.” He kissed her cheek then pointed to her lap. “Now check that out.”

She set the card on the coffee table in front of the couch and picked up the smaller envelope that had fallen to her lap. She let out a squeal when she discovered what was inside.

“Sawyer! An airplane ticket to Colorado and a ticket to a game there!”

“You can meet my mom and sister. We can stay at my house there and decide if we want to keep it or not.” He held up his casted arm. “And that game isn’t for a few weeks so I’m praying I’ll be on the ice.”

“Oh, I’m so excited! Thank you!” She put the tickets on the coffee table then launched herself onto him.

Sawyer had to lean back on the couch quickly, but he loved everything about having Morgan’s amazing body all over his. He found her mouth and they kissed as if that was all they ever wanted to do in life.

Perhaps it was.

When they stopped for air, Sawyer said, “Trixie will still be around then. I checked that she didn’t mind watching the shop for those few days we’re gone. I invited Austin, Charlie, and your sisters to come. Teddy and Samira are coming also and Carina said we could take Nia too. My mother is stoked to meet her.”

Morgan pushed off Sawyer. “Your mom hasn’t met your daughter yet?”

Sawyer shook his head. “My mom doesn’t fly so she doesn’t come out to the East Coast. Carina never let me take Nia to Colorado. Four years have gone by and Nia has never met her grandmother or her aunt.” He sat up and motioned to the tickets on the table. “But that ends in a few weeks.”

“Oh, this is going to be so great!” Morgan stood and did a little dance around the living room.

“Wow, Nia would approve of those moves.”

“Where do you think I learned them?”

He walked over to her. “I like those moves . . .” Sawyer ran a finger along her jaw. “But I’m more interested in that pole dancing that was mentioned earlier.”
