Charlie kissed him again, lingering a little longer than she probably had time for, but he wasn’t complaining. She rested her forehead against his when the kiss ended. “I may be a little dizzy too. Want me to come back here?”

“I don’t want you to leave.”

She swatted his bare chest and rolled her eyes. “I meant later, hot shot. At dinner time.”

“Yeah.” He got out of bed and slid into his underwear and sweatpants as Charlie pulled on her yoga pants and T-shirt. “Take this.”

She followed him out to the living room where he plucked an extra room keycard from a decorative bowl on the coffee table. He held it up, but he couldn’t resist hooking his arm around her waist and pulling her against him for another kiss. She looked adorable in her comfortable clothes, her hair still a little sleep mussed, yet sexy.

“For the record, I’m willing to take all the kisses you want to give out,” she said, her fingers scratching through the whiskers on the underside of his chin.

“Good to know, but I was giving you this to take.” He wiggled the keycard between them. “Come back here whenever you want and if it’s dinner time, great. If it’s earlier, even better.”

She took the card. “You have a full day of shooting, don’t you?”

“Yeah, but I’ll most likely be done by four-thirtyish today.”

“Okay. I’ll see you around then.” She retrieved her bag and dropped the card inside.

He followed her to the door and watched her slip on sneakers that she’d pulled out of the bag. The workout-sporty look of her was as fun to see as her more combat-style of dress from the first day he’d met her and the softer, more feminine fashion she’d rocked yesterday.

Of course naked was her absolute best look.

She bent to pet Berto then straightened. “See you guys later.”

“Bye, Charlie.” He gave her another kiss because he couldn’t fucking help himself then watched as she walked down the hallway toward the elevators. When she looked back and gave him a little wave, he wished the elevators were non-operational and the stairs had been removed overnight. With no way to exit, Charlie would be forced to turn around and they’d have no choice but to spend the day in his suite doing everything he wanted to do with her.

The elevator doors slid open, however, dashing all his hopes and she stepped onto it. She blew him a kiss as the doors closed, leaving him looking down at Berto who had taken a seat on his bare foot.

“Four-thirtyish better come fast, bud.”

“What’s at four-thirtyish?”

Austin jumped at Cody’s voice and whirled around. “Jesus, man. Don’t sneak up on me like that.” When I’m all obsessed with a woman and not aware of my surroundings.

And how had he become all obsessed so quickly?

“Sorry.” Cody waved a hand over Austin’s torso. “Why are we shirtless in the hallway?”

Austin stepped back into his suite, Cody following and closing the door after Berto scurried back in. He padded to the bedroom and shrugged into his T-shirt and hooded sweatshirt, grabbing Berto’s leash from the hall closet doorknob where he’d hung it last night.

“I’ve got to take him out.” He slid his feet into his boots, not caring that they looked ridiculous with his sweatpants.

“We can get someone to do that,” Cody said, looking down to his phone that was ever-present in his hand.

Austin put his hand over the phone then slid it free of Cody’s hand, setting it on the kitchen island. “How about you come walk with us? The fresh air will be good for you.”

“Okay,” Cody said slowly. “But can’t I take my phone with me?” He made a move to retrieve the phone.

Austin stepped in his agent’s path. “No. Leave it. Ten minutes, dude. You’ll survive.”

Cody gave the phone a longing stare over Austin’s shoulder, but he nodded. “Fine. Then you’ll tell me about being shirtless in the hallway?”

“I will.” He led Cody out of the suite, making sure he had the keycard and grinning over the fact that Charlie had the spare one.

“Shit,” Cody said. “There’s a dopey grin to go with the shirtlessness in the hallway. It’s because of Charlie, isn’t it?”

“One-hundred percent because of her.” He beamed a smile to his agent as they approached the elevator. “She’s amazing, Cody. Fucking amazing.”
