“He is. He also doesn’t have a mean bone in his body,” Hades replied.

“Maybe one of my warriors should shadow him,” Maletayah said.

“He has some personal guards that shadow him,” Frederick told him. “He’s fine on the pack lands, but maybe if he leaves the grounds one could go with him.”

“I can arrange that. I’ll talk to Tudor and his protectors later,” Maletayah said, watching Tudor and Puff walk away.

All three kings were worthy of his and his angels' protection, and protect them he would.

CHAPTER 36

Jason walked back into his office. The BBQ was still going strong, but he wanted to listen to the day’s recordings from the Hayes Pack.

Thankfully, the recordings only picked up anything that made a noise, so he didn’t have to listen to hours of silence.

He sat behind his desk and clicked a few buttons. He heard Barnabus ranting about still being injured and the pack shaman, and how if the shaman had still been around, he would have been fully healed by now.

That interested Jason. That Barnabus couldn’t heal quickly. Jason thought that all paranormal, no matter their species, could heal quickly. He filed that away in his mind to think about later and to mention to the others.

Then he heard Barnabus talking about attacking another pack. A wolf pack in the Candovers. Barnabus told his Beta to ready the pack; they would leave in half an hour. The trip to the Candover pack would take an hour and a half.

Jason looked at the time on the recording; that had been an hour ago. They still had time to send a defence team in.

Jason looked up the address and sent a group text to Blake, Puff, Tudor, Frederick, the generals and Shiloh, with the details and said address, saying they had about an hour before the raiding party got there.

He got a text straight back from Shiloh, thanking him and saying he was getting Marius’ team ready.

Jason sighed to himself. The team would now be in place before the attack happened.

Blake read the message and cursed; thankfully, they had time to get to the Candovers pack.

“What’s wrong?” Baylan asked.

“Barnabus is about to attack another pack,” he replied. He messaged Jason back and asked for the Alpha’s phone number.

Jason sent it back directly.

Blake excused himself and moved to a quiet spot, dialling the Alpha.

“Blackwell,” the Alpha said on answering.

“Alpha Blackwell, my name is Blake Hayes.”

“Alpha King. What can I help you with?”

“I’m phoning you with a warning. A demon called Barnabus and his pack are en route to your pack to attack it.”

Alpha Blackwell gasped. “Do you know how long we have to prepare?”

“Maybe an hour, give or take. I have a defence team preparing to come to your aid; they will be with you soon.”

“Thank you, your majesty,” the Alpha said.

“Just know, it won’t just be wolves coming to protect you.”

“I understand. Thank you, your majesty. Don’t think I’m being rude, but I need to prepare the pack.”

“Go and get ready. Be safe, Alpha Blackwell.”
