There was a pub that looked to have people our age hanging out, which appealed to us. We found a booth and then ordered drinks. It wasn’t long before a tall redhead who wore a dress that hugged her body like it was painted on approached us.
“Three gorgeous guys out on the town, I have a couple of girlfriends here, would you like some company?” She said sweetly, looking at each of us.
Dusty, being the smallest of us all, gave her one of his full smiles. “You are certainly beautiful, but my partners and I will have to pass.”
She raised her eyebrows. “Partners? The three of you?”
I watched as Dusty puffed up, proud of our relationship. “Yup. I’ve got two incredible sexy partners.”
“Son of a bitch, you are lucky. I like it. Y’all are so hot.”
All three of us laughed. “Thanks,” I said on behalf of my guys.
Joe giggled, then grinned at her. “They are amazing men and all mine.”
She laughed. “You guys are too cute.”
Dusty and Joe smiled. When I looked at them, it was clear that they were happy. It made me feel protective of them, and my heart swelled. I loved them so much, and they were proud we were together.
I sighed. “I love you two so much.” I had forgotten we weren’t alone.
Our guest squeaked. “Shit. I love this. Y’all have a great night.” She stood up and went back to her friends.
The food was amazing, and we all took turns sharing each other’s dishes. We laughed and kissed throughout, occasionally caught the eye of others, but none of us cared. While we sipped spiked coffee, I kissed Dusty, then Joe, and it made me feel warm and fuzzy. When Joe and Dusty leaned in front of me and kissed deeply, I smiled while the bartender grinned at me.
About ten minutes later, that same bartender brought over more coffees and a couple of desserts—a thick slice of chocolate cake and blueberry cheesecake. He winked at me.
“Really? Two hot guys, you could save some for the rest of us.”
I snorted. “I couldn’t choose, so I kept them both.”
“Well, good for you. It seems you are really happy. The desserts and drinks are on me. It makes me feel good that you guys are out here being proud of your relationship. We need more of that.”
He was right, we do need more of that, and I was glad we could give that to him, even though it wasn’t anything but living our lives.
On the way home, we waved to the redhead and Jack, the bartender. We talked about doing something else, but all agreed that going back to the room was much more appealing.
Leaving San Diego felt weird. Everything had changed for us here. Now we had to return to our work lives. As we got comfortable on the jet, I couldn’t get past how bizarre this situation was. I knew Joe and Dusty were used to flying on Montgomery Wilson’s private jet, but this was only the second time for me. The first trip, I had been focused on getting Joe back. Now I realized how luxurious this all was. Dating two men, loving them, seemed natural, but the jet and all the time at the resort made me feel displaced.
I missed Dusty—the horse—the other animals, the ranch, and even my co-workers. Realizing that having these two men in my life didn’t change my job was a relief. I always wondered if having a relationship would uproot the career I love, but clearly, being with these men wouldn’t.
At some point, I must have fallen asleep. There were soft kisses on my lips, and I blinked awake. Seeing Joe’s face made me smile.
“Hey,” I said sleepily, making sure to return the kiss.
“We’re home.” He said softly.
I couldn’t help but grumble. We hadn’t made any decisions about how or when we would see each other. Not spending every night with them made me unhappy. I wanted to go home to my guys at the end of my workday. Our schedules were all different, and I knew we would work out time to be together, but I hated that there would be nights that I didn’t get to be with one or both of them. Even if it was only a few hours per night, it would be better than being alone. I knew our goal was living together, and that brought me comfort, but that time couldn’t come soon enough.
There was a car—of course, there was—to take us wherever we needed to go. I sat next to Joe, and Dusty was on his other side holding his hand.
“Can we spend the night at my cottage? I’m not ready for us to be separated.” Joe asked almost shyly.
I blew out air between my lips, immediately relieved. Both of them looked at me when I noticeably relaxed and let out a sigh. “Thank God,” I said under my breath.
I heard Dusty similarly sigh. “Definitely. We need to work something out. I don’t know if I can sleep if I don’t have at least one of you.”
I kissed the side of Joe’s head, who also seemed to relax.
