When I’m all clean of his cum, he sits up, licking his lips, smirking. “Ready to come, my pet?”

I huff at him because, duh, yeah, I need to come.

He chuckles deviously, but if I think he’s going to tease and edge the hell out of me, I’m mistaken, happily so. Mason swallows me whole, using his expert tongue along my length, bobbing his head. He doesn’t take his time, sensing how desperate I am and rewarding me for being so good.

When the pressure is too much, I let go, throwing my head back. A loud and prolonged groan escapes me as I come. Mason swallows all that I give him, milking me until I’ve got nothing left. I jolt and tremble from the overstimulation, and I have to make him stop.

He rests his body on me, our hearts racing against each other. It’s one of my favorite things after sex, like we’ve become one being. His body is a heavy and protective blanket. Nothing can touch me. Nothing can hurt me. Not while I’m with Mason.

“I’m Tyler,” I tell him, the name slipping from my lips as if it’s nothing, when it’s everything. I fucking hate the name. Loathe it. It doesn’t represent who I am at all. But Mason should know.

He suddenly sits up; his hazel, gem-like eyes are wide. “What? Is that your real name?”

I nod, feeling awkward as fuck at telling him, now wishing the bed would swallow me whole. It’s one of my last secrets. He now knows everything about me except for the details about what happened to Aleks because of me.

“It’s the worst name.”

“It’s not at all. Thank you for telling me.”

“Just… don’t call me that. I just wanted you to know.”

He leans down and pecks my lips. “We could call you something like… Tazio. It’s a strong, Italian name.”

“God, that’s so much better. Thanks for that, but I think I’ll keep Jinx.” I smirk and shrug. “It keeps me mysterious. Honestly, I know the name is about misfortune and bad luck. It’s kind of fitting.”

“But you’re not about misfortune. You’re my good luck, my ‘buona fortuna.’”

I smile and reach for his face, touching his coarse scruff. “I like being your good luck.” He makes me almost believe it.

Chapter 24

Mason

It’s Christmas Eve, and I have to make an appearance at the restaurant. I’ve invited Jinx and his family to dinner tonight, which is on me.

I’ve spent the last hour greeting people coming in, but now I have some work to do before I head back to the floor. My restaurant is flourishing tonight, everyone filling up on delicious food with their families before they have to cook all day tomorrow.

As I’m placing orders for some bottles of wine, there’s a knock on my office door.

“Come in.”

Maximus Rossi, my restaurant manager, steps in and sits in the chair across from my desk.

“What’s up, Max?”

He crosses his legs and taps his fingers on the chair’s armrests, appearing to be processing something with a frown on his face. That doesn’t bode well. When he does that, I know there’s a problem that needs to be addressed.

“I’m not sure how to put this…”

“Then don’t. Just say it.”

He nods slowly. “I’ve been dealing with the issue, hoping it would go away, but it’s not.” I sigh and wait him out, as much as I want to push. He’s clearly being careful with his words. “There’s a man, a frequent diner, Mr. Bush… Well, he’s recently stopped coming in.” He runs a hand through his black curls. “Mason, he’s been accusing you of some serious things.”

My stomach dips painfully. I was wondering if running into Mr. Bush at the ski resort would bite me in the ass. I eventually pushed it aside and forgot about it when I never heard anything from him again. “I can imagine what he’s saying.”

His thick, dark brows rise. “So… you know?”

“Not until you just mentioned Mr. Bush.”
