“I’m glad you’re happy, Daddy.”

“So happy.”

He eases me onto my stomach and massages me, focusing on my lower back.

“Never stop being a brat,” he chuckles.

“I think that’s impossible. It’s in my nature.”

Mason peppers my back with kisses, then lifts me into his arms, fingering back my sweaty hair. “I’m still not going to make you come.”

A high-pitched whine escapes me. “Ugh… Yessir.”

“In fact, you’re going to wear the plug and your cock ring all week, making yourself hard and denying yourself every time. No coming at all. When you return to me, I’ll give you an orgasm to end all orgasms.”

I laugh at that. “You’re going to kill me, I think.”

“Never.”

Even though my cock feels like it’s going to die, I’m home, in my happy place, a place I never want to leave.

Mason flinches when I stand behind him and wrap my arms around his neck as he sits at his desk. When I kiss his temple, he relaxes a little, but his body is still tight.

“What’s wrong, babe?”

“Babe,” he huffs a little chuckle. He takes my hand and kisses the palm. “I like that. You’ve never used any endearment before.”

“‘Sir’ or ‘Daddy’ aren’t endearments?”

“I suppose they are.”

“They are.” I kiss the top of his head. “Tell me what’s stressing you out?”

“Fine, but please don’t… lose it. It’s going to make you angry.”

Now I’m the one who’s tense. Is it about me? It has to be.

Mason rests his hand on my arm and juts his chin at his laptop, where he has an email open. “Max, my restaurant manager, has quit. So has my chef.”

It’s definitely a blow. My breath whooshes out of me. I instantly know why. Fucking hell. It’s not just about me. “Oh, god… Please don’t tell me it’s because of that douche canoe, Mr. Bush.”

“The very one. It’s gone beyond spreading these nonsense rumors. People are getting fucking angry and have been harassing my staff. Once they started threatening Max’s family, he was out. Can’t say I blame him.”

“Have… they been sending you threats too?” His silence is all the answer I need. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I didn’t want you to be upset.”

“Upset me? Why the fuck wouldn’t it upset me? God… this is my fault.”

I swallow thickly and pull away, but Mason grabs my arms to keep me there. “Don’t pull away, Jinx. It’s not your fault.”

“Whose fucking fault is it, then? I knew I shouldn’t have waited until after the wedding to say something. We just got back, and I’ve been busy. I’ll do it today.”

“If anyone’s at fault, it’s mine.”

This time, I manage to pull out of his grasp. “Bullshit. Loving each other shouldn’t be a fucking crime for fuck’s sake!”

He turns in his chair and tries to reach for me, but I take a step back, suddenly feeling too vulnerable and exposed from still being naked.
