“No one has said they’ve seen her. It’s not the same thing as not seeing her,” I interject. Having the Valenti family looking for you means trouble, and Savvy’s circle would know to keep information to themselves when possible.

“They haven’t seen her,” Antonio says with more force. He’s one of my best hunters. I’ve always been able to count on him to find anyone. If he says they haven’t put eyes on Savvy, then they haven’t.

It doesn’t do anything to improve my mood that he’s good at his fucking job, though.

Because it’s been three fucking days and there’s been no sign of her.

“I want her credit card checked again. I want Cassie’s credit cards checked. In fact, pull Cassie’s phone records and call every fucking number listed to see if one of them belongs to Savvy.” I press my knuckles into the top of my desk until they crack. “Now. Go.”

I jerk my head toward the door and they all file out.

“There’s been no movement on her passport, so at least we know she’s still in the country,” Roman says once they’ve all gone.

“No. We know Savannah Collins hasn’t left the country. We have no idea if she’s given herself a new name and new passport and slipped over the border. She could be in Canada or Mexico.”

“If she had enough cash in that stash of hers, she could have gone even further,” Lucian adds, flicking his cigarette into the yard and shuts the window.

“Thanks. You’re a big fucking help.” I jam my hand into my hair. “Did you handle Tony?”

Lucian lifts a shoulder. “He’s tucked in tight, don’t worry about him.”

I eye my cousin.

“I didn’t hurt him,” he adds and pulls out his phone. “We’ll call Cassie.”

“I called her already. She’s no help.” I shove myself into the chair.

“You don’t know her tell,” Lucian says tapping on his phone. The other line rings on speaker phone and he lays it down on the desk in front of me. “Let me talk.”

“Yeah?” Cassie answers the phone, annoyance ringing through loud and clear.

“Cassandra.” Lucian says her name like he’s pulling a silk scarf through his fingers.

“Lucian.” She says his name like she’s just stepped on broken glass.

“Are you staying out of trouble?”

She sighs into the phone, exaggerated. “What do you want? I already told your little cousin I don’t know where Savvy is.”

I arch a brow. Little cousin?

“Are you sure you weren’t lying to him? I know you have a problem with that.”

“Do I?” She laughs. “Why would I lie? I’m just as worried about her as he is, though if he would have been worried about her before he sent his goon of a brother to throw her out, maybe she wouldn’t be missing right now.” She rambles the last bit like she just couldn’t help but add it.

“So you have talked to her,” Lucian says.

“Not since she told me what happened,” she adds quickly.

“You have no idea where she’d go?”

“Why would I lie about this? Don’t you think I want to find her too?”

“She hasn’t come to you then?” Lucian pokes.

“Wouldn’t I stop worrying if she were here?”

Lucian’s lips twitch.
