He returns to teasing my clit while pushing a third finger inside me. I clench at the discomfort when he spreads his fingers. He caresses my breast, lightly tweaking my nipple as he drags me closer and closer to another peak that will probably kill me when I topple over the other side.
His warm breath brushes over my sex. “Good girl, that’s right, so close, aren’t you? You’re right there. Ready to be my sweet girl.”
My thighs shake. A thin layer of sweat covers me.
“Gabriel, please.” I lift my hips, ready to dive headfirst into the canyon.
“That’s it, sweetheart,” he mutters against me, swishing his tongue around my clit in perfect harmony with his thrusting fingers. “Come for me, one more—”
My scream of pleasure cuts him off as another orgasm shreds what is left of my dignity and resolve. My chest heaves with breath, my eyes burn from the tears.
I’m left ragged and used and wrecked.
“Shhh,” he slowly withdraws his fingers from me, shoving them right into his mouth to clean himself. I’m barely breathing but fuck that’s hot.
I snap my legs closed as soon as he’s moved to my side. Still trying to catch my breath, he slides me onto the bed so I’m lying on the pillows.
The sun’s rays still pour through the drapes, but I’m too exhausted to open my eyes.
He lies beside me, pushing my hair from my face so he can kiss my cheeks, my chin, my forehead, and then capture my mouth.
I’ve never tasted myself before, and to do it now from his lips, his tongue is enough to arouse me all over again.
His stormy gaze lines up with mine when he breaks the kiss.
“Stay in here for the rest of the night. In the morning, we’ll go over your first job. Sleep, Savvy.” He kisses my forehead, then slides from the bed.
I’m left alone again. But this time, as he predicted, I’m too wrung out to contemplate an escape.
First thing in the morning, though, I’ll figure a way out of this whole mess.
First thing.
CHAPTER 8
Gabriel
“The numbers from the Milwaukee shop are down.” I run my finger over the ledgers in front of me. “By twenty percent.”
“You want me to look at it?” Roman asks. “Or we can ask Lucian to stop in; he’s been itching to get his hands dirty.”
“What he’s itching to do is break a few skulls. Ever since Blair left him, he’s been like a bull with his horns down.”
“Well, if there’s a problem at the shop, he’ll get to do both.” Roman grins and shoves the last bite of his banana muffin into his mouth.
“If he can manage not to kill anyone before getting all the answers, fine with me.” I drop my pen and lean back in my chair, glancing at the time on the grandfather clock in the corner of my office.
Nearly ten, and there’s been no sign of Savvy yet this morning. She was still sound asleep when I slipped out of bed five hours ago. She’d been just as dead to the world when I’d slid between the covers last night.
It wasn’t the first time I’ve slept beside a woman in my bed, but not having fucked her first was new. When I’d climbed into bed, I’d expected to roll to my side and drift off. But I was restless and tossed and turned, until finally I shifted over closer to her warm, soft body.
She’d immediately rolled over into me, draping her arm across my waist and snuggling her face into my chest. I’d fallen asleep right after.
A man could get used to that.
“How is the new distribution hub coming?” Roman’s question pulls me from the memory of Savvy’s warm body pressed against mine.
“Fine.” I close the ledger book. “All of the financing has gone through, and we’re due to break ground by Thanksgiving.”
