They get closer and closer, and I know he should’ve caught me by now. I’m in high heels and a skirt, and he wears shoes that allow him to chase. To hunt. But he seems to be playing with me. Taunting me.

Another silent sob wracks my body as I frantically search for somewhere to hide, the parking lot stretching into more open concrete and deserted, open areas. Defeat hits me as I realise there is nowhere to hide. No way to get away. My shoulders slump forward as I unravel. He will have his way with me, and I can do absolutely nothing to stop him.

And something dark… something deep, deep within me, comes alive. In a way, I’ve never experienced.

I don’t stop running until I feel the solid band of muscle wrap around my waist and lift me clean off the ground, my scream reverberating in the empty lot. Not even streetlights illuminate this area, dark and forgotten. The perfect place for nightmares to come alive. Everything is shaking as he walks me with one arm, leading me to a gravel-free slab. All I hear is his breath in my ear, warm against the back of my neck, and the sound of his boots crunching on the gravel. He doesn’t even sound exhausted.

My heels slide off my feet as tears run down my face. When he throws me onto the ground, my knees colliding with solid ground, a torn cry falls past my lips.

“Please stop!” I sob as he pushes a large hand against my spine, forcing my face to fall into the hard surface.

“Ever since I felt how tight this little hole was, I’ve been dreaming of sinking into it,” Ash groans behind me, his voice rough with need and heat. It causes a shiver to creep up my spine. “Say no. Tell me to stop again,” he growls.

“You don’t have to do this,” I beg, because I know that’s what I should do. That’s what I need to do. But some sick part of me knows I’m lying. Knows my clit is fluttering and my body has never felt more alive, with my lungs heaving painfully and my face pressed against the dirty ground. “I don’t want this,” a weak, last attempt to stop this falls from my lips.

Warm fingers grip the back of my skirt where the zipper is and tug, tearing the material. Cold air hits me instantly; my entire body trembles. This is really about to happen. “That’s it, Angel. Tell me how much you don’t want this. Lie to me, baby.”

I know he can see the wet patch forming on my panties and the way my body is literally vibrating for him, but I’ll never admit it.

Because admitting right now that I want this makes me the sickest of all. Especially when I feel the unforgiving, cold metal pressing against the back of my head.

Chapter 8

Ash

Ineed to take a deep breath and let some of my fury out. The colour red palpates across my eyesight as I take in my angel, prone to me. My gun pressed to the back of her head. She freezes, fear so strong I can almost taste it.

I’m fucking furious.

Three of my men were killed today. A bomb was planted at another club downtown that went off. The deaths were horrific; body parts and blood scattered everywhere. Kai and Kaleb were the only ones who seemed unaffected, with the rest of the men who came with us either heaving their guts up or walking out. It was sickening.

And I’m angry at my angel. She’s distracted me from my work, and I don’t like it. I’ve been justifying this weird obsession by telling myself it’ll get me closer to Howard Dally, but deep down I know it’s not true.

There is something so intoxicating about her. The way she fucking smells. The way she fucking cries. The way she’s just so fucking perfect, it infuriates me. Just watching her in that bar with her silky shirts and her tight skirts and the heels that stand so tall; she doesn’t belong in my world.

But here she is, her cunt dripping after I chased her through this empty, dark place, her needy body literally begging me to take her.

Maybe this is what I need. Maybe I just need to take her here and now, rough and hard. And get her the fuck out of my system. Then I can focus on what is important; Not letting another one of my men die like that. My only other option is killing her. And I’ll do it if that’s what must be done.

Grinding my teeth, images of blood and gore filter back into my mind. I should’ve been the one attending that meeting. Instead, I was watching the angel, taunting her while she reported me to the police, knowing she’d get nowhere with it. She needs to go. She will never be a part of the Devils and my world. But that doesn’t mean I can’t have my fun now.

“Stop,” she whimpers as I glide my hands over her soft ass.

I hook a finger into her soaking wet panties and rip them off with an easy little tug, bearing her swollen, juicy cunt to me.

“Fuck,” I groan as I bring my hand down onto her ass with a loud clap. No pussy should look that perfect.

Her pretty face twists, trying to dislodge the butt of my gun from her skull, frightened eyes searching mine over her shoulder. So wide and dark. Gripping my gun tightly, I slide it to her temple, watching in fascination as she squeezes her eyes shut in pure terror. Yet, she seems calmer.

“Open those pretty eyes for me,” I murmur, pushing the metal down her cheeks, over her puffy lips and into her parted mouth.

Her eyes open, widening in fear as she cries out and tries to wriggle free, but my spare hand is pushing down on her back in a punishing way.

Leaning down, my teeth nip her ear, and I chuckle when her cry begins to sound more like a moan. “Angel...” I whisper, my voice low with a cocktail of fury, bloodlust, and hunger. “Did you play with this sweet little pussy, thinking about me, after that day?”

Her head shakes, knocking into my gun. My smile is so wide, my cheeks ache.

“Liar.”
