He props me up on the toilet in the narrow bathroom near the stairs, with a lone lightbulb overhead keeping us from being out in the dark. It’s still a little light outside since the frosted glass isn’t totally black yet.

My stomach rumbles, a reminder of the fact I didn’t even get to eat breakfast earlier. Finn ignores it, tugging down the pair of pants he gave me until I’m sitting there in nothing but weird pink heart underwear and a t-shirt that once again isn’t mine. Nothing is mine anymore. I don’t even know what happened to my clothes.

Even worse is the fact he’s unabashedly eye-fucking me, and no matter how hard he tries its painfully obvious he’s staring at my bulge. If I could, I’d close my legs or shift my position—but I don’t have much of a choice here.

“That looks… Cute on you,” Finn mumbles while unwrapping my left leg, peeling away bandages to reveal ugly bruised flesh. “The underwear. Um… I-I hope it’s okay. Not… too tight?”

I shake my head, glancing down at the grimy tiled ground in shame. “It’s fine.”

“...Just fine?”

“Finn.”

He squirms, wiping my leg with a damp wash cloth. My body has never been worse. Deep purple, reddish-pink, and gnarly yellow marks come together to form the world’s most fucked up galaxy on my skin.

“Still pretty,” Finn comments absentmindedly as though he can read my mind. “I’m really sorry, Dunk…”

Forcing a smile, I sigh. I can’t bring myself to address the legs. Don’t want to admit what really happened—what he really did to me. “You really… that’s Haley’s nickname for me. It sounds kinda weird coming from your mouth.”

My brain immediately enters panic mode when his face goes pale as if he’s seen a ghost. Not the right thing to say, it seems. His expression is so horrified you’d think I stabbed him or something.

“We should find one that’s special.” Good save, Duncan. “You know?”

It’s almost unnerving how quickly his mood shifts to completely ecstatic. “Y-Yeah! Yeah! I like that. A… s-special nickname…” Finn thinks for a moment, before smiling wide.

Gently, Finn takes me off the toilet and sets me down on the counter so we can be at an equal level. He leans in close, peppering kisses up my jaw before whispering in my ear. “I love you, b-bunny.”

Bunny?

TWENTY-EIGHT

Blood rushes to my cheeks before I can really process the significance of the nickname. Out of all the things I expected to hear, bunny was not one of them. Especially with his stupidly cute little stutter, it's wildly bold of him.

Finn grins—wolfish and all teeth—before nuzzling his cheek against mine. “You made the c-cutest face, just then. Did you like that, bunny? My bunny?”

He’s almost an entirely new person, those warm hands of his adventuring down my waist to rest above the curve of my ass. “You’re so cute, Duncan… I-I… ugh… It’s… I-I’m really trying to be patient…”

Knowing what’s right and what’s wrong in this situation doesn’t matter. I want to live. I need him to trust me. I need to man the fuck up and do whatever it takes. Whatever it takes.

Despite the pain in my lower body I push myself forward and kiss him, inadvertently inviting him to come closer. He leans into it, moaning something I can’t understand with pure desire coursing through his veins.

His digits sink into my waistband, but he doesn’t make any moves to pull them down yet. Instead Finn pries himself off of me, meeting my gaze with a trembling lower lip.

“You… You want it, right? I don’t… I-I don’t wanna do something you don’t wanna do…” He blinks with one eye, as if the anticipation is eating him up inside.

“Y-Yeah…” I rasp with a huff. My cheeks are hot and undoubtedly dusted red, which I hate. I shouldn’t feel this… heat. This excitement. But it’s not like I’ve ever done this kind of thing with anyone before.

I always threw myself into whatever to keep my brain distracted. School. Work. Anything to save me from making a fool of myself or creating a problem. Looking back on it, I probably wasted some of the best years of my life thanks to the shame I felt.

There’s quite literally nothing left for me to lose. If I can die at any minute, shouldn’t I kick a few things off my bucket list before I go? Without waiting for a response I initiate the kiss again, but this time there’s no hesitance. No fear.

It’s a shoddy excuse, I know. I’m acting in a totally reckless manner. But what’s there to fear, anyway? Life sucks and you die. I’ll probably just die a little earlier than most people, and I’m okay with that. I think. I’m hoisted up off the counter and set back down on the toilet before I know it.

As if a switch has been flipped, Finn yanks down my underwear but takes extra caution to not rattle my legs too much. It sort of hurts, but I can’t focus on it for long since his hand goes straight for my half-hard dick.

Just the sensation of another person’s hand is enough to get me all excited. It’s so new, and nothing at all like doing it yourself. The kiss ends with a gasp, our glossy lips connected by a strand of saliva.

“It’s so cute,” he coos while his heavy breaths waft against my cheek. “Ugh… You’re so p-perfect… I…I’m… P-Please don’t be… disappointed…”
