She ran her hands up his back, and he started exploring her as well. Hands, mouths, tongues, and they found what made each other sigh, gasp, and cry out.
And he quickly realized how smart her mouth really was. He lay back and let her take charge, joining them together and finding their own dance. He couldn’t believe this amazing woman was his and he was hers. He pulled her closer, and their pace quickened.
He jumped off the cliff and soared with her. Her flushed skin and humming sounds had his dragon preening. He pulled her to his chest, and she snuggled against him for a few minutes as they caught their breath.
“That was…”
She rested her chin on his chest. “Amazing? Spectacular?”
“Better than flying.”
Her eyes danced. “That’s a high compliment.”
He was mucking things up. “It is. Flying has always been where I found my joy. Now I have you.”
She blinked. “And I have you.” She reached up and ran her hand along his jaw. “You are handsome with or without a beard.”
“I sense a ‘but’ coming,” he said with a smile.
“But there are some advantages to a beard.” She waggled her eyebrows.
He laughed. “I think we can negotiate about that.”
She kissed him. “Excellent.”
And now her denim eyes were dancing again, and he knew she was going to say something wicked.
“How about your refractory period? Can we speed it up?”
This woman. “Um…”
She kissed his jaw.
“I don’t think that it’s…um…a negotiation.”
Her lips kissed behind his ear. “We’ll see.” She ran her tongue down his chest. She glanced down his body, a Cheshire-cat grin appearing. “I beg to differ.”
He rolled her under him. She laughed before he captured her lips with his. And they joined together again.
He realized he would never be alone. Never have to take the world on alone. Not with Tessa owning his heart, soul, and dragon.
Chapter 46
Three months later
Tessa stood at the end of the aisle, and her mom linked their arms together. “Are you ready, sweetheart?”
“I’ve been ready since the moment I met him.” And considering the first time she met him, she was hunkered down in her car, tailing him, that was saying something.
Bella toddled ahead of them, throwing one petal at a time from the basket she was carrying. When she got to the end of the aisle, she peeked inside the basket, tipped it upside down and the rest of the petals landed in a heap. Megan scooped her up and held her where she stood to the side as best woman. Eric stood in his best man spot next to the two most important people in her life.
Her breath caught. Adam waited for her with the cliff overlooking the valley as the backdrop. He was delectable with his close-cut beard. She was very good at negotiating. Standing in front of him was Lily. They were both wearing tuxedos. Tessa had let Lily choose what she wanted to wear and she had decided on a tuxedo, but instead of black, it was purple with a sequined bow tie.
Sienna stood at the head of the cliff. As clan leader, she was going to officiate the wedding. Adam had insisted Sienna keep the role, and after much debate she had accepted.
Tessa and her mom stopped at the end of the aisle, and Adam kissed her mom’s cheek before taking Tessa’s hand in his.
Her stomach dropped like she was on a roller coaster. But that’s what happened every time this man touched her.
