“No. You don’t, Quinn. Your career is your priority, and that’s why I never pushed for more.”
Oh please.
“So, you were just fucking me?”
“You were just fucking me.”
Fair. I was, but I thought we were on the same page about not seeing other people. Not sleeping with other people.
I let out a sigh. “Goodbye, Mark.”
“Goodbye, Quinn. Hope you find what you’re looking for.”
That’s the problem.
I know what I want. I found him a long time ago.
I just can’t have him.
CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
NOAH
––––––––
I toss the cards onto the table. “I’m out.”
“Yes!” Cole drags the chips from the middle of the table and grins like an idiot.
He keeps winning.
“He’s cheating.” Aidan narrows his eyes at the male.
“I’m not cheating; I’m just good.”
“You counting cards?” Josh asks, lowering his cards.
Cole chuckles.
“Deal me in.” Hayden grabs a chair, spins it around and leans on the back of it, wiggling his fingers. “I’ll beat his ass.”
“Way to make friends and influence new peers, there, Captain.” Cole laughs. “But go right ahead. Another whiskey, please, server.”
We all glance at Marshall, who freezes. “I’m not your fucking server, and you’re lucky I’m not armed.”
I lean back in my chair and laugh.
I’ve always been shit at poker, but tonight I got hammered and lost a couple of Benjamins. Glancing at the time on my watch, I consider heading to Quinn’s room, but I’m not sure how to handle this.
Handle her.
Tyrell is watching, and while none of the trainees are socializing with us tonight, I’m unsure if I want to risk him spotting me.
More for Quinn than me.
Things are delicate between us. One wrong move, and everything I’ve achieved so far could be destroyed.
But that doesn’t mean I can’t let her know I’m thinking of her. I pull out my phone and message.
