“Yeah, asshole, listen to your bitch.”

“What did you say?” I hissed, slowly turning to look at the fucker.

“I said, listen to your bitch.” Smiling like a moron, as if he’d just said something smart, this caremondá looked around the parking lot and the few people that had gathered around. He was probably so full of himself because next, he decided to be an even bigger man and tried tossing a punch my way.

Idiot.

I dodged it without so much as wasting a breath, then right-hooked him so hard his lame ass got knocked out. His girl, who had thus far supported her crappy man, was now screaming for help as I moved above him and crouched down.

“Do I really look like the type of guy you should mess with?” I eyed his bloodied face, thinking back on all the losers who were no different from him that I beat up over the past few years. “Make sure to wash that dirty mouth of yours with soap when you get home.” I patted his cheek before getting up.

Shay-Lee dashed to me immediately, not wasting time before taking my hand. “I’m gonna fuck you so hard when we get home,” he said, loud enough for the loser lying on the ground to hear.

Well, who knew one homophobic asshole could make my night even better.

Shay-Lee

“You’re gonna make me puke all the tequila I drank!” I yelped, out of breath, while hitting Camilo’s back as he carried me over his shoulder. With my head upside down, it was hard holding it in, and I protested by kicking my legs, only for him to laugh at me.

“You’re the one who asked to be carried in, claiming his feet are too tired to walk.” He hitched me a little bit higher before shutting the loft’s door behind us.

“Like a prince, not like a sack of potatoes. Besides, I just said it to get a foot massage—” My words were cut off once he put me down. I lifted a finger, ready to complain, but he’d already begun stripping me naked like an eager kid unwrapping his presents on Christmas day. I was down to my boxer briefs when he tossed me onto our bed and came to join me. My back had hardly hit the mattress, and Camilo had already taken off his shirt and thrown it aside. The sight of his strong body never stopped turning me on, and I bit my lips while eyeing his sexy ink, specifically my name over his heart. The sound of his zipper caught my attention, and I looked down at his crotch just in time to see his fingers working on getting that monster cock of his free when I remembered something important.

“Come here.” He grabbed my leg to pull me close when I—

“Ouch,” he whined after I shoved his face out of my way and got up from the bed. “What the fuck?”

Ignoring Camilo, I spotted my leather jacket near the door and went over to pick it up while he continued to complain that I hit him too hard. “Stop being such a baby and hold on for a second,” I said while fumbling in the jacket’s pockets until I found what I was looking for.

“What you got there?” he asked from behind me.

Turning to look at him, I smiled. “A surprise.”

“You’re full of them tonight.”

“Am I?” I went back to the bed and sat down in his lap. Now, with my legs straddling his sides, I held a small black box between us. “I promise this is the last one for the night,” I said with an impatient smile.

Camilo frowned at the box and then at me before taking it from my hands. “Is that…” His words slowly died as he opened the box to find two nearly identical golden necklaces.

While he stayed silent with his eyes fixated on the necklaces, my cheeks grew hotter, and my nerves kicked in. Not one to be patient, I’d been waiting on tenterhooks to give him this, and now, when the moment had finally come, I was nervous. What if he hated it?

“I would have given it to you much sooner, but it took the jeweler time to make the other necklace identical.” I tried filling in the space with words. “But yours has a pendant with an engraving on, while mine doesn’t.” Since I didn’t want to make any changes to his mother’s necklace, I asked the jeweler to add a small pendant only to Camilo’s.

With his eyes focused on the chains, he let out a low chuckle. “You tossed it away, my ass,” he said, a half smile on his face as he repeated my shameful lie.

Embarrassment washed through me at the memory of how I’d acted only a few months ago, and I ran my fingers through my hair while rolling my eyes. “Well, let’s try and forget I ever said that.”

Camilo snorted, catching my attention back, and I looked at him to find he was staring at me.

“I love you so much right now.” He took out one of the two necklaces, the one that belonged to me. “Hold your hair for me,” he said, and I immediately did. Then, he opened the clasp before bringing his hands to my neck. With our faces an inch apart, so close that I could feel his breath ghosting my lips, he closed the necklace around my neck. My heart beat fast as a slight tremor went through my body at the touch of the cold metal, or maybe it was just the fact I finally had his necklace on me again. Either way, a lump of emotions formed in my throat, and I had the strong urge to cry.

Ain’t nothing new about that.

“This time, don’t you dare take it off.” He stroked me under my eye, right where I had a small beauty spot.

I shook my head. “I won’t.”

“Good.”
