“Shit, Keller, are you okay?” Ty rushed to my side. Shocked, I allowed him to help me, but my eyes were focused on where Shay-Lee had just disappeared.
What the fuck just happened?
“I wouldn’t worry about it,” Ty said while still holding on to my forearm. “He was pissed off since the moment he arrived… he drank like a pig, ran some lines, and then Chloe came. She—”
“Why was he pissed?” I asked, cutting him off.
Ty shrugged. “Beats me. He just was. Almost took Lin’s head off earlier, too.”
I tried to think about what could’ve happened since we last saw each other that caused his anger. I swear he was fucking euphoric when we parted ways, and now?
I looked down at myself and sighed. I was a sticky mess, and there was no way I could go home like this. My entire costume was covered with vodka and whatever else I had fallen in.
“Hey, where are you going?” Ty called after me as I started making my way out of the group of people that came to see the action.
“To find a fucking shower.”
I took the stairs to the top floor and went to the first room that came into sight. I knew it was Don’s room before I even opened the door. As I grasped the handle and pushed open, I recalled the last time I’d been inside his room.
Shay-Lee was so sexy that night, and so vulnerable and honest with me that it made the experience even more intense. That night I came to confront him, but as soon as he revealed that raw side of him, I’d never seen before, I couldn’t help but fall deeper. Loving him was a mistake, one I couldn’t help but keep doing.
My line of thought was immediately cut as I stepped into the room and saw the twins on top of a girl, dressed in a black maid dress. Her face was buried in the sheets while Don rubbed her boxer-covered ass with his palm, and Lin ran his fingers through her silver hair. Only, that wasn’t silver but platinum, and why would a girl be wearing boxer briefs underneath a sexy dress? And those long, tattooed legs that tried to kick Don’s away weren’t a girl’s but a guy’s. A guy I knew.
“What the fuck are you two doing?” I shouted with my hand still gripping the door handle.
“The hell, Keller? Get the fuck out!” Don barked right before I charged toward the bed and pushed him off Jess.
“What’s your fucking problem?” Lin rasped as I wrapped my hand around Jess’s shaking body and pulled him up. What the actual fuck were they planning to do to him?
“Jordan,” Jess mumbled from beside me as he tried to straighten his dress with trembling hands. His makeup was a running mess, and his cheeks were wet from tears.
I was mortified and repulsed. Above all, I was furious.
“We were just trying to have some fun,” Don sneered from where he was standing by the bed.
“You were trying to rape him,” I hissed and moved my body to block Jess away from their sight. I was filled with a strong urge to protect him from those monsters.
“Rape? The fuck you talking about, Keller.” Don’s eyes narrowed, and his jaw tensed. “That bitch was asking for it. So, watch your fucking mouth.”
Asking for it?
“Yeah, Keller. We got no clue what you’re gagging about, so make sure to keep your fucking mouth shut,” Lin hissed. To make their threat clear, the two rose to their full height, and took a step closer.
“You crossed the fucking line. Don’t you ever dare to do something like this again.” I pointed at them before I reached for Jess’s arm. “Let’s go, Jess.”
“Fuck off, Jordan. You’re such a cock block; next time you do that shit I’ll kick your ass,” one of them shouted after us as I dragged Jess out of their room and into the hall.
I didn’t stop walking until we were outside and let go of Jess’s arm only when we were at a safe distance. Once I did, Jess turned around and hurled into the bushes. As he continued to vomit, I turned around and grabbed a bottle of water from a nearby stand. Once done, he took the offered water and finished it in two long gulps.
“Fucking shit…” he grunted as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and then slumped into a crouch. “Holy fucking shit.” He shouted out the rush of adrenaline and fear while burying his face in his palm. “Just, holy fucking shit.” He gulped some air before jumping onto his feet and shaking his body. He then stilled and looked at me with a smile on his face. “That was fucking close. Wasn’t it?”
I was taken aback by his sudden cheerfulness. It was as if he puked out his fears and shook out his trauma. I had never seen a person adjust to something this immense with such ease.
“Are you okay?” I asked, still not sure if the smile on his face was shock or just… him?
“Fuck yes, I’m okay. Thanks to you.” He reached forward and wrapped his arm around me. “But I do feel like I’m forgetting something important.”
I was about to ask him what he could forget when Levi ran toward us.
