Me: On my way.
Taking the bus took me around an hour to get to the twins’ house. The expensive Beverly Hills mansion used to be one of my regular hangouts, but not anymore. Not since my life circumstances forced me to step back.
After entering their front gate, I took a left on the trail leading to the guest house Lin and Don had moved into when they turned sixteen.
“Keller!” Lin shouted as soon as I walked in, and he came to wrap his strong arm around my shoulder. “Finally decided to join the party?” He smirked and handed me a bottle of beer.
“Thanks, bro,” I said as I took the offered drink.
“Sup, Jordy?” Don asked from the couch, where he and Kamper were playing video games. I gave them a nod, my gaze searching around the room.
While not finding Shay-Lee, I did find Ty. He was busy picking mushrooms out of his pizza while also rolling a joint.
“Hey, Jordy.” He smiled at me, and I nodded at him. “Hungry? We also have pepperoni pizza.” Although it was my favorite, I wasn’t feeling hungry.
“A little bird told me you have a crush,” Lin said, dismissing Ty and catching me by surprise.
What the hell is he talking about? Did he know—
“I’m talking about Laura,” he was quick to add.
Relief washed over me.
“Who’s Laura?” I asked and then remembered. “Wait, that’s the girl from the drama club?”
“Fuck, yeah. That hot piece of ass. With those tits? I’ll try them out any day. Anyway, Tiff told me she and you are a thing now.” Tiff was one of Lin’s fuck buddies.
“Seriously?” Ty jumped in, but I ignored him.
“Tiff likes running her mouth. Laura and I aren’t together. I’ve only talked to her once.”
Lin nudged my side with his elbow and wiggled his eyebrows at me as if my words held a different meaning. “Talked or…” He thrust his hips in the air, and I pushed away from him.
“Fuck off,” I mumbled when Ty grabbed my shoulders.
“What’s the matter, Keller? We’re just worried your dick will go dry.”
“If you’re so worried about my dick, you can suck it yourself,” I shot back and blew him a kiss.
“You wish.” He shrugged, half-offended, half-embarrassed.
Ty was a pretty boy, no way around that, but it wasn’t his honey eyes I wanted to see at the moment, nor was it his hazel hair I wanted to run my fingers through. And even though I always believed he was three beers away from getting experimental, I had no intention of finding that out tonight. Or ever.
“What’s the matter, Ty? Trying to get your hands around Keller’s cock?” the only voice I wanted to hear tonight asked, and I turned in time to see Shay-Lee stepping into the room. He stopped beside Ty and patted his back. “You have a better shot with Don.” He winked as Don’s protest came from the couch.
“Fuck off, Rogers! You know I’m not a fucking homo.”
“Hey,” Shay-Lee shot at him. “Nothing wrong with being one.”
“Fucking disgusting,” the prick grunted before he returned to his game.
While Don’s reaction was as vulgar as can be, Ty was much more reserved, as his whole face reddened, and he waved his hand in dismissal. “W-whatever. I was only joking.”
“So, Keller, what brought you here?” Lin asked as he lit the joint Ty had rolled up. “I mean, you blow us off all the fucking time recently.” He took a long drag before he blew the smoke out.
“He came to give me a hand in something,” Shay-Lee said, putting his arm around my shoulders, and squeezing me hard. “Didn’t you?” His blue eyes checked me with humor, but there was warning in his touch.
“Yeah, I did.”
