He smiled. “I was, now I’m not. Anyway, I got your texts. All of them.”
I’d sent him one or two—make it twelve—texts. Mostly asking how he was feeling because I was worried, and now I felt like such an idiot with the way my face heated up.
God, I was so pathetic.
“So, what do you say? Feel like going dancing?”
Dancing? What was he talking about? I was about to ask him what he meant when I recalled my last text.
“Wait, you’re not talking about Fool’s Moon, are you?”
After my short chat with Jess and Levi today, I’d left Shay-Lee a voice message, telling him Miles was going there with Andrei. A part of me hoped it would help him get the point across that Miles was happily involved with Andrei, but I guessed I was wrong.
Ignoring my question, he climbed back into the Benz. “C’mon, Jordy. Get in the car.”
“I don’t know, man. I’m kind of beat after the game.” It wasn’t a complete lie because I was tired. But I also knew that if he’d just asked me on a regular date, I would’ve jumped in his car without wasting another minute. But he wasn’t. Yet again, he was asking me to spy on Andrei and his friends. Because of Miles.
It was getting harder for me to accept his feelings for Miles. The closer I’d got to him, the more jealous I was becoming. I still hadn’t asked him about it, but I wasn’t an idiot. Knowing Shay-Lee was at least bi, I had no doubt he was in love with his best friend.
“Seriously? You’re going to turn me down?” The smile on his face didn’t reflect anger, but his tone said he wouldn’t take no for an answer. “You’re the one who told me about the party. I thought you wanted us to go.”
For entirely different reasons.
“Yeah, but you don’t want to go there with me,” I said, moving my hand over my short hair. “You want to go there for Miles.”
Did I sound as pitiful as I thought I did? I hadn’t intended to let my jealously slip like that, but I was fucking over his obsession with stupid Miles.
“And yet, here I am, asking you to come with me.” He leaned through his open window and looked me in the eyes. Despite the dark parking lot, I could still spot the blueness of them and couldn’t help but admire his angelic face. “I could’ve gone without you, but I didn’t, did I?”
“You didn’t.”
He looked around before motioning me to step closer. Once I did, he reached over and cupped the back of my neck, pulling me toward him.
I leaned over the open window, getting a taste of his delicious lips. Yes. They were as tasty and addictive as I remembered. With his hand urging me closer, I pushed my tongue inside his mouth, not at all worried we were kissing in the middle of our school parking lot. Sure, it was the back lot, rarely used by our classmates, but still.
“So, are you gonna get inside the car now?” he asked with his lips brushing mine.
I licked my lips, already eager to taste him again, before a low “Yeah” escaped me and I climbed into the passenger seat without another word.
Once I was buckled up, Shay-Lee pulled me into another quick, hot, and sloppy kiss that made me forget my fucking name.
“When we get back,” he started saying, brushing his nose against mine, “I’m going to sit on your face.”
“What?” I gasped, shocked by his words and the blazing heat that took over my body.
“Don’t want that?” He played coy with a not-so-innocent smile on his face.
“O-of course I do,” I was quick to clarify while adjusting my pants because his words were enough to give me a semi. “Please do,” I added, and he chuckled.
Jessie
“Tongue out, Kotik,” Levi said as he touched my lips.
Loving how sexy my Babydoll was when he ordered me around, I sucked his fingers and swirled my tongue around his digits before I opened my mouth with a big smile and stuck out my tongue.
He purposely smoothed over my piercing while placing the two small pills on my tongue. The slight touch made me hungry for him, and I couldn’t wait to get a taste.
His gray eyes were focused on my mouth, and the moment he took his fingers out, he grabbed my waist and pulled me close until our mouths brushed together. Eagerly, he pushed his tongue in and rolled it around the metal barbell before taking one of the pills waiting for him. After years of partying together, we both learned how to swallow a drug without breaking a kiss. That’s what I call an acquired technique.
