“You know, you should model.” I turned to look at Levi. “Don’t you agree?”
Moving his eyes from me to Jordy, he nodded. “I guess.”
Jordy shrugged. “Yeah, right. Anyway, we have a big game next Friday and I thought you might want to come?”
That sounded like fun. I’d never been to a football game in my life, but I imagined hot dogs, cheerleaders, and sweat.
“We can’t next week,” Levi answered quickly.
I looked at him, trying to think why. “We can’t?”
“Yeah, Kotik. Fool’s Moon. Remember?”
Oh, that’s right!
“Fool’s Moon?” Jordy questioned.
“It’s a big, epic rave with great music and great people,” I said proudly. “Fool’s Moon is the best rave of the year. That’s for sure. We go to a lot of parties together because Diesel always gets us tickets. He’s an amazing dancer and always works on these raves as, you know, one of those hot people that dance on the stage while you get high and shit?”
“He’s a dancer?” Jordy looked surprised. Or shocked. I could never tell the difference.
“Yeah. A great one.” Diesel was the best dancer I’d ever met. He even taught me some moves.
“That’s cool. I mean, he doesn’t look like the type to enjoy dancing.”
“He doesn’t look like the type to enjoy anything,” Levi said and made us all chuckle. It was the truth.
“Do you like dancing?” I asked Jordy.
“Well, not in particular, but I don’t mind it?”
“You should come with us one time to dance. We’ll have fun.”
“I’m sure you two know how to move,” he said, which drew my attention to something other than dancing. Something hot and sexy. Yes. We knew how to move, and I wondered how he moved.
Levi cleared his throat, and I realized I was staring at Jordy with my mouth open. Oopsie.
“What you just said made me think of sex, so I was just thinking about us having sex.”
“Jessie!” Levi squealed, almost spilling the bottle of water he was holding.
“I mean, about Levi and me having sex. Not you and me,” I explained to Jordy but that only made Levi choke on his water.
I looked at Levi, patting his back as he coughed. “What? I’m sure Jordy knows we have sex. I mean, he probably has it, too.”
Levi’s coughing grew louder, so I kept tapping his back until he could breathe normally again.
“You can’t say that to people,” Levi mumbled while wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
“Oh, it’s fine,” Jordy chuckled. “If anything, it made me laugh.” Jordan then pulled his phone out of his pocket and handed it to me. “I remembered that I still don’t have your numbers.”
“Oh, that’s right,” I said and grabbed his phone. “Here you go. I saved myself under Jessie, with capital letters, and Levi, under Levi, without capital letters. He doesn’t like when I caps lock because it’s grammatically incorrect and all,” I explained as I handed him back his phone.
“Cool.” He flashed us a smile and stood up. “I’ve got practice, so… I guess we’ll talk later.”
“Bye-bye,” I said as he waved us goodbye and jogged off.
“Why did you give him our phone numbers?” Levi asked as soon as Jordy was gone. What a weird question.
