“You know I do.” Margot finally swallowed. “He’s in good hands, but he misses you.”

“You said you’ll go to the stable next week, didn’t you?” Andrei asked from beside me, and I nodded.

“Yeah. It’s about time.”

“And what about coming back to school?” Margot asked, her brows curved with worry.

“Probably next month. I don’t think I’m ready yet.” I was doing a lot better, but facing so many people seemed to be too overwhelming. Something I didn’t have the strength for at the moment. I preferred to focus on gaining back my confidence in myself. It was hard for me to explain, but I used to believe I had come to terms with me being bipolar. I found out I didn’t, not completely. Self-acceptance. It was a hard journey, which I started four years ago and was ready to continue.

“That’s legit. But what about the school year? Will you need to repeat it?”

“I’m helping him catch up, and he’ll have to take some courses over the summer, but he won’t need to repeat it.” Always my advocate, Andrei answered Margot’s question before he took another slice of the sourdough bread I baked.

“That’s nice! Your own sexy, private tutor. I hope I’ll find one for myself,” she whined before she moved her short hair from her face. “Oh!” She leaned closer toward Andrei. “What about that sexy, mysterious friend of yours? Is he single? Maybe he can teach me a thing or two. I am failing Spanish.” She sent a very unsubtle wink my way, and I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Diesel?” Andrei asked, surprised.

“Yes, Diesel.” She almost purred his name. “Sexy, dangerous Diesel. Fuck, the guy is hot as hell. Those tatts?” She faked a gasp. “Hell to the yes. And I heard he can dance. Is it true? Can you set us up?”

“Set who up?” Levi asked as he returned to the table, accompanied by Jess. They went for a tour around the house a while ago.

“Margot thinks Diesel is sexy,” I filled in the information.

“Because he is!” she protested. “So sexy.”

“He is sexy! But mostly scary.” Jessie chuckled as he sat down beside Margot and used her fork to take a bite from her food. “Mhmm. I like this. Is it fish?”

“It’s chicken.” Margot gave him an amused look.

“Did you know that seahorses mate for life?”

“No, Jess. I did not know that,” Andrei said.

“And now you do.” Jessie smiled.

“C’mon, guys, I’m being serious. My vajayjay is desperate for some action.”

“Eww.” I twisted my face, and she rolled her eyes at me.

“God, you’re such a child, Miles. When will you learn that pussies are God’s blessing to men?”

“Straight men,” Levi added from his seat while Andrei muttered something about how much he hated the P word.

My thoughts exactly.

“Wonderful ’cause Diesel is straight.” She smiled widely. “Right?” She locked her eyes on Andrei, who seemed more focused on his plate than on the conversation.

“For as much as I know.” He shrugged. “If you’re really into him, I’ll give you his number.”

“Perfect.” She clapped her hands before turning to look at Jessie. “What about you, baby? Sure you’re not into some lady action? FYI, I have a strap-on.”

Jessie chuckled while Levi grunted.

“Do you ever stop?” I asked.

“I like hot guys, and I will not apologize for it. So learn to live with it,” she declared proudly, as she should have, just when the doorbell rang.

“Who else is joining us?” I asked.
