Haruki looked towards her.
"Apparently."
She nodded, satisfied.
Mori opened a second file.
"We have another problem."
Ken straightened.
"Only one?"
Mori ignored him.
"Hayashi has begun cooperating."
Haruki looked towards the file.
"Why?"
"He believes the surviving coalition will kill him before he reaches Accord custody."
"Will they?"
"Yes."
"Then his fear is rational."
"He provided names."
"How many?"
"Fourteen confirmed. Thirty-seven possible."
Renji's attention sharpened.
"Bloodlines?"
"Financial entities. Political intermediaries. Medical foundations. At least three have existed under different names for more than a century."
Mina looked towards Haruki.
"The conspiracy is still active."
"Yes," Mori said.
"Who leads it?"
"We do not know."
