Will it look suspicious that Skylar is leading me somewhere? Will anyone stop us?
The thought of being locked in a room with her sends a thrill fluttering through me. The academy always tells us how unsafeit is to be alone with an unbound alpha—urges sometimes win out over intentions—but the idea of Skylar putting me in danger seems impossible.
She wouldn’t hurt me intentionally, but what if she loses control?
I know I’m overreacting, but I can’t help it as my pulse accelerates.
If we get caught, this is over.
I expect her to take me to a darkened stairwell or maybe an unused room far away from the busier hallways, but she leads me straight into an office and closes the door behind us. Her name is printed on the little plaque on the desk, and her rich smoky pine scent is soaked into every corner of the room.
I take a deep breath, letting the scent consume me.
There isn't much in the room aside from the desk. A swiveling office chair, a few cabinets, and a stunning lake painting. There are large windows, but they’re covered with blinds, so no one can see in or out. The office is organized and simple, but it might just be the sexiest place I've ever seen.
The click of a lock has me wheeling around to find Skylar standing by the door, watching me like she's waiting for my reaction.
Is she waiting for me to make a move? Or for me to change my mind?
“Are you sure about this?” she asks, taking a step closer.
Heat scorches through me, my arousal coating my inner thighs. I've spent countless minutes imagining this moment, waiting desperately for the chance to be alone with her again.
There's no way I'm changing my mind.
But the fact that she wants to hear me say it, even after I've offered myself to her on a silver platter, has more slick dripping down my thighs. Even like this, when all she has to do is take me, she wants to make sure I want it.
Whatever happens from this point on is my decision.
I swallow over the lump in my throat.
“Yes.”
My heart beats erratically as she takes a step closer, then another. She stops mere inches away, leaning down so her scent wafts in my face, and her breath dances over my skin when she speaks.
“I could do anything to you right now, Riann. I could tie you up and ruin you so you can’t even walk. Are you sure that’s something you want?” Her words have a threatening bite, but the smirk on her face only makes me wetter.
I hesitate, and she takes my sweater from me, tossing it onto the nearby chair.
“Say it, Riann.”
“I’m sure.” A small whimper escapes me, and I nearly choke on my nerves.
She instantly reacts, a low growl rumbling through her, and it's the only warning I get before she surges forward and catches my mouth with hers.
My heart in my throat, the scent of pine in my nose, and the taste of Skylar on my tongue all make me light-headed, my world spinning with pure euphoria. The only things keeping me upright are her arms around me as my eyes drift closed.
Heat roars through my body, racing to burn all the places where her fingers touch my skin. My thighs are now drenched, beads of slick rolling down my legs, soaking into the tops of my thigh-high stockings.
My knees tremble as she pulls me closer. I’m so aware of her and how I don’t want to fuck this up. I’m doing my best to follow her lead, to match her movements, but doubt begins to rear its ugly head, which makes me more nervous.
Am I a bad kisser? What if I do something wrong? What if I make weird noises?
I rest my hands on her hips, unsure what else to do with them.
Am I using too much tongue? Not enough?
What if she wants me to be more assertive?
