“Perhaps it’s because you like it? Hmmm?” he rumbles, coming up behind me, whispering tauntingly. "In fact, I think you like it so much, it’s slicking up your thighs.”

“N-no,” I rasp. Even as I lie through my teeth, with each step the wetness coats my skin.

“Liar,” he breathes against my nape.

I shiver in his hold as his lips meet that sensitive spot below my ear. “Room 306,” he whispers. “Run.”

Rose turns in my hold, hazel eyes wide as the low-hanging moon outside. “W-what?”

“If you beat me there, I’ll do anything you want, pretty girl.” The vein in her neck flutters, picking up speed. I yearn to feel the effect I have on her with my lips.

“I-I just want you.” She fumbles over her words and I have to rip out the wings of the butterflies that start flapping around in my stomach. Why, of all the people, did I have to fall forher? Is fate really so cruel as to line me up with my most perfect match, just to rip her away?

I can’t have her.

I can’t keep her.

Even if it’s all I’ve wanted since laying eyes on her.

“How do you want me, Rosie?” My hand slides up her spine, trailing over her bare skin. “Soft and slow?” Following the strap of her dress, my fingers graze over her shoulder, tracing her clavicle, ending wrapped around her throat. Her pupils dilate impossibly larger. “Or hard? With my fist in your hair, slamming my dick into you while your skin reddens with each spank?” To drive my point home, my other hand sinks into those eye-catching scarlet locks, gripping tight.

Her loud gulp is comical, making the smile on my face somewhat genuine. “I don’t know… I like the way all of that sounds,” she answers, red-hot embarrassment flushing her cheeks.

Tightening my hold on her neck, I say, “ I’ll give you a head start to think about it.” Her lashes flutter, and I can smell her needy cunt crying out for me. Kissing her hard and quick, I release her. “Run,” I repeat. This time she takes off like a racehorse, disappearing around the corner while I slide the knapsack off my shoulder.

Iwhip around the corner, skirt of my dress swirling around me as I almost roll my ankle. What room did he say? 306 or 406? I can barely remember anything except the press of his lips against mine.

Leaning against the wall, I untie the straps wrapped around my calves. Slipping my feet from the chunky heels and placing them on the floor has a groan slipping out between my lips. I hate wearing fancy shoes, but the sensation after removing them is euphoric.

Glancing back down the hall, I wait to see if Sam will poke around the corner. He doesn’t, and I realize he probably knows a shortcut to his room. He’s undoubtedly going to beat me there, an?—

“I don’t hear running, Rosie!” he calls out.

Shit.Stifling a giggle, I scoop up the shoes and take off, bare feet thundering down the bright carpeted hall.

Coming up in front of the elevator, I smash the down arrow button. It lights up green, and I wait anxiously.

What happens if he catches me? I don’t know, and the unknown ratchets up my arousal. I should have asked more questions.

The whirring of the coming elevator fills the silence, and I release a heavy breath. Slightly bouncing on the balls of my feet, I ready myself to jump in and press theDoor Closebutton before Sam can sneak up on me.

The sound stops abruptly, the light above the elevator stopping on the floor below this one. Its yellow glow flickers erratically, then goes out completely. Trepidation sneaks up my spine as I press the down button again. It doesn’t light up green.

In fact, it doesn’t light up at all.

What the fuck?

Down the hall, the telltale ding of another arriving elevator calls out. Fate intervenes at the most perfect moment, making sure I don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime dicking.

Abandoning the useless elevator, I jog toward the waiting one, while making a mental note to notify Sam of the malfunction. As I approach it, the light once again flickers, then dies.

Sam.

The motherfucker.

He has to be doing this. Using his pull with his coworkers to manipulate the situation. I cast my sight up and down the hall, looking for a security camera.

High up, tucked in the corner, a small lens reflects the light. I knew it. He has this whole chase completely rigged. I’m a rat in his elaborately constructed maze, being led to the finish line.
