Would she scream filthy words with my cock buried inside that lush ass? Rising, I approach her sleeping form with caution reserved for more dangerous surroundings. Her coils are loose framing her round face.

Up close, I notice she’s wearing mascara, shadow, and blush—totally nude of course, but it’s there— hiding in plain sight.

“Mr. DeLuca,” my personal assistant, Milana, stands erect and poised just outside the room. “Daniella reports there are four severed arms in the lobby per your instruction. Also, the two agents who accompanied your guest evaded capture, sir.”

Evaded or were assisted? Immaculate as ever, Milana’s dark hair is swept over one shoulder, her black dress sports the DeLuca red collar with matching trim. She is striking and competent at running my calendar and household, but I never play with the help. A point I made clear when she joined my personal staff eleven months ago.

On the exam table, Jessie is unmoving except for a barely perceptible twitch of her lips. The minx is listening to our conversation.

“And the person who shot Jessie?” The one I’m going to bury.

“A remote-controlled weapon hidden in a suitcase baring the Esposito crest.”

As I focus on Milana’s message, what I don’t hear is the mention of additional back-up or tactical extraction team for the special agent in my company. Someone is setting Jessie up to take the fall. They wanted her off the case, but alive… for now. Is it the Espositos? They have as many cops, judges, and senators on the payroll as the DeLucas. Did Gregorio stumble upon an asymmetrical attack on the DeLucas coordinated by the Espositos and FBI?

“Shall I give Daniella additional instructions, sir?”

“Yes. Have Dani track the missing agents… especially the one who took a bullet. Be sure to inform her I want them both breathing at our next meeting. I’ll call Gabriel. When he locates the suitcase’s owner, be sure to explain in painful detail the error in judgement. Conducting business on the grounds of The Governor is a violation of policy, termination is approved.”

“I have it for action, sir. Will your guest be staying for dinner?”

Jessie rouses from fake sleep, bolting upright, like a vampire freed from her coffin.

“No,” she blurts out. “I want to clean up, then get the hell out of here.”

Since hearing her colleagues are off the premises, I’m sure she’ll want to join them. I almost chuckle… almost.

Milana turns her smile towards Jessie. “Of course, I’d be glad to assist—”

It’s a rare breach in protocol for the young woman.

I interrupt, “Jessie, never instruct my staff.” I turn cool eyes on Milana. Instantly, she takes a step back, looking contrite.

“My—my apologies, Mr. DeLuca.”

I merely nod. “She stays.” Milana’s mouth drops open. Nothing I’ve said is confusing, so why is she still hovering as if I should or will change my response. Bolstered by the Milana’s delay, Jessie looks at me.

“No. Just no,” Jessie stammers, shaking her head.

I fix Jessie with a hard stare. “Until I’ve taken care of whoever orchestrated what happened to you in my establishment, you don’t leave.”

Jessie juts her chin forward, ready to challenge me. “That’s my decision to make, Corso. Not yours.”

“You ready to die, special agent? No one came for you. You get that shit, right? Your golden shield didn’t garner loyalty when it mattered most. A concept even a criminal can understand,” I grouse, not wavering in my anger on her behalf. I mean, what the fuck? Gregorio sang her praises. Jessie’s a good agent. So, what would have happened to her if her alphabets had abandoned her to another mafioso? The thought of her being brutalized has me grinding my teeth.

She says nothing in response.

“Bring dinner for two to my private dining room, Milana. I’ll take care of the special agent’s personal needs. You’re dismissed.”

“Wait,” Jessie protests, reaching for a phone that used to be attached to her utility belt. When she realizes it’s missing, along with her badge and gun, she narrows her eyes on me.

“Give me back my gun and phone,” she commands.

A sinister smile, wide and toothy, spreads across my face. “You’re in my kingdom, Jessie. I control access to both within my private quarters.”

Jessie turns wild eyes to Milana. “Stay… don’t leave me alone with him.”

Milana knows I won’t tolerate a second slight. She gives Jessie a pitying look, then disappears without a word. I descend on Jessie like a plague of locusts ready to devour.
