Rebel paused and said, “I sorta like that title.”
“Me too, sis,” Jelly Bean replied. Then she caught sight of movement from the corner of her eye.She turned her head just a bit to look beyond the steps.“We aren’t here alone anymore.Oscar sent backup.”
Rebel snapped her gaze over to see them in the background.
Jelly Bean found six men in the shadows watching the light house.
One of the men below them caught her attention and motioned behind the army. They had seen something she hadn’t noticed yet.He pointed to the other side of the street.
It took her a moment but she finally picked up on the large shadows moving across the street. Two of Big Mac’s men were waiting there and she could make out the gun bulges under their t-shirts.
Jelly slowly raised her free hand at Rebel.
Her sister nodded as she saw them too.
Benzo was trembling with fear now with a gun pressed to each temple and no words being spoken.“A-are you going to—to kill me?”
Jelly Bean chuckled.“We should. You called us whores and all.”
“You also beat on your kid sister, didn’t you?”Rebel seethed at him.
At this unexpected question, he froze.“You k-know Ria?”
“Sure, we do,” Jelly Bean replied.“And guess what?”She cocked her weapon.
The sound was loud to him and he actually shuddered with fear as he peed his pants.“W-what?”
“Eww, dude,” Rebel griped as she scoffed at the mess.
“She sends her regards and just know this...She is free! Finally free of you.”Jelly Bean then removed her gun from his temple and clocked him on the head with the butt end.
He dropped like a rock....A wet rock.
The girls both stepped swiftly back.
Jelly Bean signaled the lead man in the army group then she and Rebel immediately disappeared behind the lighthouse.
“Well, Big Mac ain’t taking any chances, is he?”Rebel said as they hid behind an old stone wall.
Jelly Bean shook her head.“Nope, he isn’t.He didn’t waste any time sending his enforcers in.”She reached for her phone and began texting.
“What did you just do?”Rebel whispered, hardly daring to put a voice to her question. She didn’t want the breeze to carry her words to the men below them.
“I let Strom know where we were and who’s waiting for Ricco,” Jelly whispered back.
“You think Storm and his boys will come here?”Rebel asked.
Jelly Bean nodded.“Yeah, I do.They don’t want Big Mac stalking in the shadows. He’s nothing but a parasite here and they’ve been looking to finally squash him like the bug he is.The only reason they haven’t run him out of town is that nobody can find him.Maybe they can use those big guys to find him.”
Rebel looked at Jelly and said, “I have to wonder what Ricco promised Big Mac.I mean that guy is an idiot if he thinks he can make a deal with the devil himself and Big Mac is the devil in blue jeans.Everyone here knows that.”
“Ricco is a druggie though. So he’d make a deal just to get a hit of whatever he’s using.”Jelly shook her head.“Think about it for a minute, I mean really think. They followed the cartel, and that means drugs and money. That’s what they do.Leon wouldn’t allow them into the city over ten years ago.He keeps as much of the drug trade out as he can and he does that for a reason. He just doesn’t want this city into all that.Oh, it’s here and people like Big Mac runs it through here but he can’t walk the streets because he knows Leon will get him finally. He stays in the shadows because he fears Leon. But drugs are everywhere, you can stop some of it but you’ll always have somebody trying the limits.
A little while later, they noticed Storm and his men coming up.There was barely a struggle and the two big men were laid out on the grass. There were no gunshots and no noise even as Tornado and Lightning zip tied the two men.
Storm looked up and saw the girls, then lifted a baton up and swung it like a bat. This told Rebel and Jelly Bean that he had seen thelawn baseball classicearlier today.
Jelly Bean smirked and gave him a thumbs up.
