I thrashed again as I broke into pieces around his invasive fingers. It was colliding, collapsing and dangerous, freeing something surreal I hadn’t felt ever before, and I hated myself more than him.

“Stop…” My voice came out as a strained whisper as I pressed my mouth to my arm and cried, shutting my eyes. I didn’t want to look at him, didn’t want to see the smug expression on his face; I didn’t want to see what type of look he had in his eyes. But when his fingers stayed inside me, I shattered. “Stop it, please…” I repeated in the silent darkness, holding onto the vain belief that this man would understand the anguish in my voice.

“Not unless you give me what I want.,” He leaned in and I felt his wolfish grin stretching into an unhinged one as his fingers rubbed the inner walls of my core, making me tremble uncontrollably. “Well, that’s interesting.”

I stilled, and I could tell my expression must have been categorised as that of a deer caught in red lights. And I tried to twist, this time with renewed energy. No, no, no. I wouldn’t let him have his way with me. I’d rather die.

“Are you a virgin, little bird?”

“I am not.”

I tried to camouflage my fear and lie.

His grin stretched, and the wildness shone brighter in his eyes as he pushed the shades down his nose. “Oh, Ptichka, you think you can lie to me?”

“Your body betrays you, little bird,” he purred. His eyes gleamed with a manic light. “Your cunt is weeping, soaking my fingers.” His thumb brushed over my sensitive clit, and I bit backa whimper, not wanting to give him the satisfaction.

“No one can save you,” he whispered, his voice low and deadly. “I can tear your little cunt and find that out myself, and it wouldn’t be vanilla and strawberries. It’s either you give me an answer with words, or if I have to ask again, it won’t be with words.”

His grip on my chin tightened, and he forced me to look into his eyes, those wild, predatory eyes. “Are you a virgin?”

I took a deep breath, opened my mouth, and then closed it shut before opening it again. “Yes…”

He smiled, wildness replaced with amusement, and he slid his hand from my jaw to my throat, his fingers wrapping around it in a mockery of a caress. “This wasn’t so hard now, was it? You just have to keep me entertained, and I wouldn’t have to resort to unpleasant ways.”

I stared at him for a moment, not understanding what was going on in his head. “And if you decide to disobey, I could snap this so easily,” he said. “Just one little squeeze.” He applied a fraction of pressure, just enough to make me gasp for breath. “But that’s not what I want.”

His grin widened; the unbalanced glee in his expression making my blood run cold. “No, I think I’ll keep you alive. For now,” He released my throat, and I sucked in a desperate breath, my body shaking uncontrollably. “After all, a broken toy is no fun to play with.”

He pulled his fingers out of me abruptly, and I felt a strange mixture of relief and dread. He brought his fingers to my lips, rubbing them on my lips with a slow, deliberate motion that made my stomach turn. “I think I’ll enjoy breaking you.”

He pushed himself off me languidly, as if savouring the moment, and shifted back to his seat. I watched with a horrified face, sweat dripping down my body as, without a hint of urgency; he pulled out a handkerchief and wiped his fingers clean as ifmocking of gentleness that made my chest tighten with a sense of impending doom.

My breath came in ragged gasps, and I hastily buttoned my jeans, the fabric feeling like a prison around my trembling body.

He pulled out a cigar and lit it. Dragged in a puff and let the smoke out.

“Oliver Rosewood, Anna Rosewood, Mikhail Rosewood,” he said, and I froze whipping my head in his direction I stared at him, my eyes wide with shock and fear, unable to comprehend how he had turned my world upside down so quickly. He let the names mess with my brain.

He dragged in another puff. “I could have your remaining family behind bars with just one phone call. I wouldn’t even have to reconfirm, because I have the power here, Ptichka.” I didn’t bother to ask him how he knew, cause there was anything possible with him. And that was scary. My family… he knew about them.

“You see, power is—” He paused, taking a long drag from the cigar, the smoke curling around him like a serpent. “—everything. It’s the only currency that matters in this game. And right now, I hold all the cards.” His eyes locked onto mine; the wildness in them was almost tangible.

The smoke spiralled upwards, choking me momentarily. My mind raced, the fear almost suffocating as I realized the full extent of his hold over me.

I pressed myself against the window. “You... you can’t do this,” I whispered, my voice trembling despite my efforts to sound defiant as I wrapped my arms around myself.

He laughed, still not looking at me. “Can’t I? Oh, Ptichka, you have no idea what I’m capable of. You’re going to learn. Very soon.” He took another drag of his cigar, the ember glowing brightly in the dim light. “Now, be a good little prey and accept your fate. It will be much easier for you that way.”

I swallowed hard, the reality of my situation crashing down on me. There was no escape, no rescue on the horizon. I was truly trapped, at the mercy of a man who revelled in his own madness.

“You can refuse if you want, though,” he shrugged as if he was truly giving me a choice here.

“But…you’ll harm my family.”

“I never said that.”

My jaw clenched, and so did my fists as I glared at myself with teary eyes. “You threatened me!”
