She was moaning, arching into him, his name breaking from her lips like a plea she couldn’t hold back.

“Don’t you dare stop, Baker.”

He had no intention of stopping and wasn’t even sure hecouldif he tried.

The pressure was everywhere now. In his chest, tight and burning. In his arms, locked and holding her in place. In his legs, bracing to keep him upright as the moment threatened to overtake him.

He was hanging on by sheer will alone, and he didn’t know how much longer he had before it shattered.

“Tell me you’re there,” he grunted, thrusting his cock into her again and again. “Touch yourself if you have to, but get there now!”

Her hand went between her legs, her middle finger landing on her swollen bud, swiping and twirling the tender flesh around, her hips trying to lift as he continued to pound into her.

And that moment when her hand dropped away, when her body lifted and froze, sending him the deepest yet, she shouted out his name, and came all over him. Every pulse, every twitch, every moan, he felt inside to his core.

His arms went under her thighs, lifted her even higher, sending him so far inside of her, he was positive he was touching her heart.

He held himself there, feeling every single release she had, squeezing him until he had no choice but to blow everything he had inside of her.

His body gave out, forcing him to drop toward the bed, but he turned before he landed and had her on his chest.

“How did I do?”

She burst out laughing. “You did wonderfully.”

Then she held him tight, closed her eyes, and let her body just melt into his, the fast release replaced by a loving, tender one.

ALL COMING TOGETHER

“You’re doing the right thing, Tasha,” Madeline, her attorney, said the following Tuesday.

“I know.” Tasha exhaled, scrubbing a hand over her face. “I just hate all of it. I wish I’d let it lie. After Shane’s reaction, there’s no doubt he’s not interested in Micah.”

“You don’t know that,” Madeline said calmly. “And you can’t assume it. What matters is that you’re doing everything by the book. You’re taking the right steps and showing that you’re willing to allow a relationshipifhe wants one. Not that you’ve been hiding Micah.”

“But I did hide it,” she said quietly. “That’s going to work against me.”

Madeline reached across the table and wrapped her hand around Tasha’s. “Don’t worry about that. Let me do my job. I’m damn good at family court. And whathedid—his reaction, his words, the way he approached you when he came back—that says far more about his character than yours. And it’s all documented.”

“He could still say it’s his word against mine,” she argued, even though Baker had already given a deposition about what he’d witnessed.

“We’ll cross that bridge when we get there,” Madeline said. “For now, he’s agreed to come in today and talk.”

Which Tasha hated more than anything.

Shane had given the DNA sample the very next morning. She knew because she’d called to confirm it herself. She’d already arranged everything and paid to have it expedited. The results had come back last night, confirming what she’d always known.

The text that followed felt like a premonition or a warning:We need to talk.

Shane wanted her to meet him at his apartment.

The one where Micah had been conceived.

Her son.

Baker had shut that down immediately. “Not without me,” he’d said.
