"It was cute. Total focus. A wild look in your eyes."

"Don't make fun of me, Vi."

"I'm not! I said it was cute."

I shook my head and rolled to the side. We came apart; she wrinkled her nose at the sensation.

"In fact…" she faced me and placed a hand on my chest. "The whole thing was amazing."

"That's more in line with what I wanted to hear." I caressed her face, and let my hand travel all the way down to her waist. "That it was as good for you as it was for me."

"It was. And it makes sense, right? If we've had feelings for each other for so long, chemistry had to be a part of that."

"I had this theory. You're sassy and sparkly. I was sure you would be mouthy and involved."

"Not knowing kept you up at night, didn't it?"

"You know it."

She laughed. "I knew you'd make me feel handled."

"Handled?"

"Yes. I can't wait to see how far you take it when I'm a brat."

"You're really going to push me hard, huh?" I kissed her. "Push me as hard as you like."

"I'll push you harder than any of your exes ever did."

I raised an eyebrow. "What makes you think I let anyone else push me?"

She opened her mouth to respond, but snapped it close as she thought about it.

"All right," she said after a moment. "I really like to know that."

"Of course you do." I shook my head, sat up, and dangled my legs from the edge of the bed. After a quick knot on the condom, I threw it to the floor for later disposal.

"I wondered, you know?" she said at my back.

I lay down next to her again and placed my hand on her waist.

She ran her fingertips on my beard, her eyes locked on mine. "I would watch you with the girlfriends I met, and try to imagine what you were like as a boyfriend. I hated every second of it, don't get me wrong, but also I couldn't help myself."

I laughed. "You hated imagining me as a boyfriend?"

"Please. You know what I mean. I hated seeing you with other people. Especially Leah. She was the worst."

"What? She was nice."

"Don't say your ex was nice while we're naked in bed together."

"Not as nice as you of course," I corrected immediately. "But she wasn't mean, was she?"

"No. Shewasnice. Too nice. She seemed to really care about you. And you, well… you seemed to care about her, too. I didn't like it."

"I think she cared about me… and I cared about her, too. But I never felt as much for her as I thought I should. That's why I broke it off."

"Funny. I also had that issue with my exes. They never felt right."
