"We love you all, too," Tía Sonia added.

"You can keep the handkerchief." Max grinned. "I hope you like the design I had made for you two."

In ruby red, the letters R&S decorated the fabric.

"I thought it would be one of yours!" Vi exclaimed.

"Oh, no." Max shook his head. "I had one made just in case I could offer it to Tía Sonia gallantly."

"Many revisions were made," Eva said.

We laughed.

"Now go enjoy the party." I put my hand behind Vi's back. "We arranged everything so that, after this, you can stay in one of the special rooms in the building. You'll have a driver take you to the airport tomorrow."

"The suitcases will be taken care of," Vi added. "All you need to do is let yourselves be loved tonight."

"You're spoiling us," Tío Raúl said. "But we appreciate it."

"You spoiled us first." Javier smiled at him. "And we appreciate it."

"Go, now!" Gabe insisted. "Your guests want to say hello. I hope you enjoy some of the surprises waiting for you among the crowd."

We watched them mingle for the first few seconds, until they screamed when Tía Sonia's sister appeared out of nowhere.

We laughed and made our own little group.

"This started on point!" Vi exclaimed. Full of bubbly excitement, she took my face in her hands and gave me a resounding kiss. "This night is going to be amazing."

"Excuse me?!"

Max, Eva, and Javier stared at us, shock written all over. I grinned, pride puffing up my chest.

Vi's laughter exploded with delight. "Your faces! Even better than Ryan and Stephanie. They tried so hard to be professional."

"Fuck professionalism! This is huge!" Eva exclaimed. "I thought I saw you two being more touchy-feely, but I wasn't sure…"

"Can you kiss again?" Max frowned. "I'm second guessing myself."

"You were not mistaken—" Vi started, but I pulled her face to me with a gentle hand on her cheek, and kissed her.

It didn't matter that our friends and family watched. I pressed my lips to her, hard. Years of longing now in the past, I infused love and joy into it. I wanted everyone to see.

"FINALLY!" Max hugged us, forcing us to stop the kiss. "I'm so happy for you two."

Javier patted my back but looked at us with a blank expression. I raised an eyebrow his way, but he didn't say anything right away.

"How long has this been going on, and why did no one send a telegram to Laguna Island to let me know?"

Eva laughed at Max's joke, but Vi smirked and shook her head.

"Could I have texted you?" Jake said. "No. Vi and I agreed to keep it quiet until we were ready to tell you lot. Were there secondary benefits to keeping it quiet? Absolutely. Your shock wasdelicious."

Gabe shook his head, but a big smile stretched across his face. Lina watched the developments with a similar gesture.

"So you hid it for a while?" Javier asked. True curiosity tinted his words.

Vi nodded. "Since the gala. We needed the privacy, but it did have its costs."
