Without hesitance, I grabbed a handful of her braids and tossed her ass onto the glass table, causing it to shatter and everyone to shoot to their feet. Tarin grabbed onto me while still on the floor, tugging me down, and I just started taking off on her ass, not caring about the shards of glass stabbing in certain places.
She punched me in the mouth, but she hit like a little ass girl, so it did nothing as I kept wailing on her, until Rakim yanked me from being atop her. Josias carefully scooped Tarin up since she was covered in glass, alcohol, water, ice, and the ranch she’d been dipping her chicken in.
“You can be next, bitch!” I screamed at LaMia who was watching, jaw on the floor. She quickly turned away.
“You snuck me, you punk ass ho!” Tarin screeched, braids sticking to her bloody nose and mouth.
“Come outside then!” I shouted.
“We leaving. Get the fuck on,” Rakim told the security who’d approached, and he fell right in line.
“You can let me down,” I told Rakim once we were out of the club and headed toward the elevators to get to our suite. He didn’t say anything even while we rode up to our room. “Are you upset with me?” I asked once he placed me to my feet inside of the suite.
Rakim stared down into my face and then started laughing. I was too caught off guard to join him.
“I mean, when you told me you be out in them streets fighting, I low-key ain’t believe you, but you be putting in work with yo’ small ass.” He was cracking up, and I didn’t know how to feel about that.
“Why are you laughing?” I pouted as he cradled my face and bent down to kiss me.
“’Cause you got hands for real. Yo’ technique is good as hell for someone that ain’t been trained.” He was still cheesing, so I started laughing. “And I know Tarin ass ain’t expect all that. She one of them females that like to argue with people she think don’t fight.”
“Well, she fucked around and found out.”
“She did.” He picked me up, maneuvering my legs around him. “You turned me on, girl.”
“Shut up!” I giggled, watching his fine chocolate ass nibble on his full lip as he inspected me, eyes filled with admiration while carrying me to the bedroom. “I think I’m in love with you, Rakim,” I whined as his mouth latched onto my neck.
I hadn’t felt this good around someone in forever. I hated how much time I wasted being with Shaun.
Pausing for a moment in the room that was absent of much light, he got serious and admitted, “Well . . . I love you, baby.”
Tightening my grip around his neck, I let my lips sink into his before saying, “I love you too.”
We hopped in the shower and then brushed, flossed, and rinsed with mouthwash before climbing into the bed naked.
“You are so fucking beautiful,” Rakim whispered, sinking between my thighs.
“You’re gonna get me pregnant,” I moaned, feeling him prod my opening.
“Then you gon’ have to marry a nigga.”
“Not necessarily.” I smirked. “Niggas love being stepfathers.”
“What’s the point of a stepfather,” he mocked the way I said the word, causing me to giggle, “if he dead, baby?”
Before I could answer, he pushed himself into me, shutting me up.

THE NEXT EVENING . . .
“Hey, boss, it’s time for Heidi to go on her break.” One of my waitresses, Lily, peeked her head into the back.
“Okay. I’m coming now.” I smiled before she exited.
Tonight was kind of slow at the bar since most people were just having dinner dates or celebrating something within their family. That was usually always the case on Sunday evenings. We had big rushes for our brunch, but by this time, it was scarce. Because of that, I didn’t book two bartenders on Sundays and therefore had to work the bar whenever Heidi needed a break or backup.
