“I already am,” she gasped as she tried to move his hand to her breast.

“You’re nowhere near desperate. I want you so out of your mind with need that you don’t know where you are, and you can’t string two words together. I want you flying out of control, unable to think, only able to feel what I’m doing with you.”

Before she could answer, he covered her mouth with his in a kiss that was long, and slow, and thorough. By the time he moved back to her throat, she was undulating against him, making breathless little mewls of protest.

“You’ve got to stop making noise, or I’ll have to gag you,” he threatened.

“Would you really?” She didn’t sound too worried about the prospect.

David leaned back to look at her. Flushed cheeks, heavy eyes, and swollen red lips. Damn, she was beautiful. “Only if you wanted me to.”

Her brow puckered. “I don’t want anyone to hear us either, so if I start screaming, you should probably shove something in my mouth.”

Freaking adorable. “I’m sure I can find something,” he said.

“Men.” She tugged at the back of his neck, wanting his mouth again.

“Nuh-uh.” He knelt up beside her. “I haven’t unwrapped my gift yet.”

Savoring every second of the first time he undressed Elle, he slowly slid her T-shirt over her head, watching it slide across her breasts like a caress. All he’d removed from her when he’d carried her in from the car was her shoes and jeans. Which meant she now lay before him, clad in lavender lace.

“I’m going to bankrupt myself buying lingerie for you,” he whispered as his hands traced over her skin, mapping every inch of her body not covered by flimsy lace.

“David,” was the sweet feminine complaint that came from her lips. “Too slow.”

“Just slow enough,” he corrected as he bent to press kisses across her collarbone.

Her hands fisted in his hair, trying to make him move to her breasts. Instead, he smiled at her before laving her belly with his tongue. Followed by a nibble to her hipbone. Kisses down her thighs.

The sweet, heady scent of her need almost made him hurry. But he was David Knight. His self-control had been refined in fire. What was that saying? ‘Good things come to those who wait.’ Well, he’d waited a lifetime for the woman beneath him.

Sitting up, he tugged off his T-shirt and tossed it onto the floor beside Elle’s clothes. The low moan that escaped her as she stared at his chest went straight to his already straining groin.

“Gimme,” she muttered as she reached for him.

“Not yet.”

“Why?” She pouted.

“Because I want to go slow, and if you get your hands on me, this will be over far too fast.”

“I’m very conflicted hearing that,” she said.

With a grin, David moved down the bed. Eyes on her face, he hooked his thumbs into the sides of her panties and lowered them down her legs. She writhed before him. A wanton feast of seduction that was agony to resist. He was a man starved, and Elle was everything he needed to feel sated again.

Once the panties were gone, he caressed her from ankle to thigh before trailing his fingers through the curls covering her heat.

“Brown,” he muttered.

“Did you think I’d dye it blue to match my head?”

He cocked his head. “What I think is that you aren’t anywhere near as desperate for me as you should be.” He climbed off the bed.

“No!” Her eyes went wide as she reached for him. “Trust me, I’m desperate. I’m so, so desperate. If I could think of another word that meant more than desperate, I’d use it right now.”

“Trust me, we can get you far more desperate than this.” David knelt beside the bed, hooked his hands under her knees and tugged her to him, spreading her legs wide as he did so.

Her fragrance made his mouth water, and the sight of her pink, swollen flesh made him so hard he thought he might come in his jeans like a teenage boy. Unable to wait for a second longer, he leaned forward and kissed her sweet, wet center.
