I wait a moment, about to drag Sloane off when I have to bite back a laugh.
“Knot, please,”she whispers.
I laugh softly, brushing damp hair from her face, pressing small kisses to her forehead, her cheek, and the corner of her mouth. “Seems the idea of getting an Omega is really pleasing to our Alpha here.”
Sloane lets out a small roar as he slams into her one last time, Callie’s lids fluttering shut. He stuffs his face into the curve of her neck, groaning against her, hips still twitching as he empties himself inside her. “Fuck. Sorry. I didn’t— shit. Didn’t mean to. You feel too good. The room. You. Theo coming. All of it.”
The combined weight covering me is almost too much, but it’s a delicious pressure as Sloane slowly rolls to the side, gathering Callie against him, his knot fully seated inside of her.
Her eyes are completely glazed over, a sloppy smile on her face as she reaches for me. I twist enough to face her, loving the clumsy way she starts running her fingers over my chest. Her lips open and close several times, my purr reverberating through the room to slowly bring her back to us.
Sloane’s purr matches mine, though his hands are still wandering, one moving down to her clit. I grab his hand before it reaches its destination and bring it to my lips. “Behave, Sloane. She needs a minute. Callie? Baby, how are you feeling?”
I fold my hand and run my knuckles along her cheek, Callie leaning into it as her eyes clear a little. “I haven’t… it’s been a while since that’s happened.”
“Mmmhmm, how do you feel?”
“Floaty,” she mumbles, her fingers still moving across my chest. I lean in to kiss her, Sloane mirroring my movements along her neck and shoulder. “Shit. I’m going to have to wash every single thing,” she murmurs against my lips, somewhere between scandalized and resigned. “The pillows. The throws. The blankets I haven’t even decided on. Theo’s going to walk in and the whole room is going to smell like sex and the two of you and me. He’s going to think we’re animals.”
Sloane huffs a quiet laugh into her hair, still rocking the tiniest bit against the lock of his knot. “He’ll think we’re the luckiest fucking pack alive.”
I kiss the top of her head, then the soft skin just below her ear. “We’ll open the windows in the morning. Wash the blankets and pillows and throw out anything that can’t be salvaged. Keep the lamp and the plant. He’ll still know the room was made for him.” My hand strokes slowly down her spine. “And if he smells us a little, he’ll know exactly how wanted he already is.”
Some part of me wants to leave our scents drenched in this room because my instincts have already told me that Theo is ours. The rational part tells me that I can’t very well force an Omega to claim us or our scents.
Callie gently pats Sloane’s hand which has found its way to her stomach. “Hey, you back with us?”
He chuckles into her neck. “Yeah, it wasn’t a full rut.” His voice is still real gravelly. “But I have a feeling it might be an issue when Theo gets here. Idris will keep me in place, though, right?”
I just shake my head, trying not to laugh at how perfect my mates look in front of me. “Yeah, of course, babe. Maybe we can get you a leash or something?” Sloane reaches over Callie and slaps my shoulder as I return the favor, pushing back against his, our Beta groaning a second later.
“Stop! You’re gonna…”
Sloane grins, rocking his hips forward as Callie scrambles against my chest, her eyes rolling into the back of her head. Her body shudders between us as she comes again before she presses her forehead against me.
I almost say something when Sloane follows right after her a second time, a smile cracking onto my face at how beautifully wrecked those two are. A selfish part of me is glad that the pack bond between us and Garrett doesn’t fully share the same mated bond in this room.
Idris
My gaze walks around the guest room, inventorying everything that will have to be aired out or wiped down to rid this room of our scents. There’s still several pillows in packages which I’ll make sure become the base of Theo’s nest should he choose to say. A soft huff of breath drags my focus back to Callie between us, her glazed over eyes looking up at me, her lips parted as Sloane presses himself closer to her.
She lets out a small gasp, letting me know that Sloane is very much still inside of her and no doubt on the edge of fucking herinto subspace again. Not that I wouldn’t be game to watch. I lean down to kiss her forehead, running my fingers through her hair as the front door opens and closes downstairs, the sound cutting through the room with enough force to make Callie clutch the hem of my shirt where it barely covers her thighs.
Her gaze moves over the pillows, the blanket half on the floor, the lamp glowing warmly beside a pile of opened bags. “I really do have to wash everything now,” she says, her voice halfway between laughter and panic.
Before I can answer, Garrett’s anger reaches me through the pack bond. It’s cold and controlled, not a flare he’s lost hold of, but a tightened thread of displeasure pulled clean through the house.
Sloane meets my gaze, slowly pulling back as he reaches for the nearest blanket and wraps it around Callie’s shoulders. “We’ll fix it in the morning, baby,” he says, pressing a kiss into her hair. “You’re going to bed before you start a laundry cycle in my shirt and nothing else.”
“Theo gets here Friday afternoon!”
“And we’ll have all morning.” He gathers her up in his arms before shooting a glance over at me, offering me a small nod. “Come on, baby. You can boss us around at sunrise. I’ll even let you pretend I know how to fold fitted sheets.”
Callie lets out a breath that almost becomes a laugh, but she looks back at me before Sloane gets her through the doorway. I touch her cheek once, keeping my face calm because Garrett’s displeasure is still sitting at the edge of the bond. “I’m just going to check on Garrett. I’ll be up soon,” I tell her.
Sloane holds my gaze for a moment over her shoulder before disappearing down the hall, murmuring something too low for me to catch. I follow them just to grab a pair of sweats to change into before going downstairs.
Garrett is in the study with his suit jacket off and his tie loosened by a precise inch. His attention is firmly focused on two open folders: Bellwether’s placement packet on one side, and the financial-history clearance on the other he’s been working on ever since we chose Theo.
