Zane rubbed his hands on my thighs, his thumbs brushing the inside of my thigh sensually. I inhaled sharply at his touch.

“Zane, we have things to do…,” I whispered.

“This one’s on you, all I can smell now is you.” He was fighting for control, and I could feel myself heat up.

Zane leaned in to kiss me, his lips about to touch mine when there was a knock at the door.

Zane lowered his head and groaned before standing up and adjusting himself.

I let out a deep breath, fanning myself with my hand. Zane gave me a smile before opening the door.

“Hey!” Alpha Daniel strolled in, unaware of what had almost happened until making it into the room and scrunching his nose.

“Gosh, it smells like sex in here!”

I gasped in embarrassment again, hiding my face in my hands. Zane laughed before smacking his dad on the back.

Alpha Daniel shook his head with a smirk on his face, “Just here for the meeting! Sorry to interrupt—”

“No! You didn’t interrupt anything!” I replied quickly, my embarrassment still fresh.

Zane gave me a wide-eyed grin before he sat down at his desk, and we began to go over my possible duties.

I turned to Daniel.

“What did your wife do? What were her duties?”

“She was mostly in charge of the pack house. She would go over menu plans and food orders with your mom, plan the pack meetings, events, and ceremonies, and make sure everyone was taken care of.”

I smiled.

“I can do that.”

Zane leaned back in his chair.

“I wouldn’t mind if you helped with administrative duties as well. Filing and such. It would help a lot; the guys don’t seem to be very good at organizing.”

I squirmed a bit.

“I don’t know how good I’d be at that.”

“Don’t worry, hun, it’s a learning process. You aren’t expected to be perfect at this immediately,” Alpha Daniel reassured me with a squeeze of my hand.

“Okay. Let’s do this then,” I said, determined to make them proud.

Chapter 41

ELLA

When the meeting was over, Daniel slapped the arm of his chair.

“So, Luna, what does a guy have to do to convince you to go do some training?”

I perked up; it had been a few days since we had trained together. I turned to Zane, hoping my best begging face would work on him. And it did, like a charm.

“I’ll go change and meet you at the field in fifteen minutes.”

“Perfect!” Daniel replied, and I hopped out of the office.
