“What the hell, Lady?” he asked, and from my upside down position I could see the sleek orange cat sitting at his feet, her claws digging into his denim coveredshins.
“It’s okay, girl,” I told her, and she flicked her tail and flounced off. Grant continued to the bedroom where he plopped me down on the bed. I laughed as I bounced and he stretched himself overme.
“Are your cats mad atme?”
“Yeah, I probably should have warned you. They’re a little protective of me thesedays.”
“But I thought you lived under their fascistrule?
I shrugged. “We’ve come to a bit of an understanding. They’re on Team Jennynow.”
Grant smiled at me, love shining in his expression. “Me too,” he said, leaning down for a kiss. “Metoo.”
