I groan, rubbing my hands over my face. “You know we could be in bed right now. Instead we’re doing whatever the hell this insanity is.”

She just laughs, rummaging through the excess tea until she finds what she needs. “Grab a bowl, Bodhi. And a spoon, please.”

I stand in the doorway, watching while she stirs together a gloppy mixture of yogurt, loose tea, and honey. “The green tea is exfoliating,” she explains to him. “And the honey should help with dryness.”

I scoff and she looks over at me. “I distinctly remember you insisting that you weren’t a hippie when we met. DIY yogurt and green tea face masks are definitely a hippie thing to do, babe.”

“He’s just jealous,” Bodhi whispers loudly. “He’s not secure enough in his masculinity to care about skincare.”

Rose snorts, adding some more honey to the mess in the bowl. “That should do it. You want to apply it, or you want me to do it?”

“You, please,” he says promptly. “Leo’s face is going to turn an awesome shade of red when you gently caress my skin.”

“She’s not caressing anything, jackass.”

“See?” Bodhi says, pointing at me.

Rose is giggling softly while she applies the mask, Bodhi making ridiculous cooing noises when she touches him. Something raises up in my chest while I watch her, and it’s not jealousy or anger. It’s something warm and light and overwhelming. She’s so beautiful, standing there in her yoga clothes from earlier, her hair up the way I love, giggling while she messes around with my best friend.

I’m in love with her,I think, the realization hitting me like a freight train. I’m completely head over heels for this woman. I love her when she’s kicking ass at school. I love her when she’s blowing me away helping people at the shelter. I love seeing her with her family, all easy and comfortable. I love her in my bed. And I love her standing here in my kitchen, laughing her head off at whatever Bodhi just said.

I love her. And I’m really fucking scared I’m going to mess all of this up.
