Should I confess how I feel?

It’s too crazy. Too fast.

But when it feels right…

Fuck it. You only live once.

“I have another reason to love it here. You.” I said the words quickly, before I could stop myself or change my mind. I gripped the edge of the table, bracing myself for his response, my entire body bursting with flames.

Hollis reached across the table and wrapped his hand around mine. “It feels crazy, doesn’t it?”

Our eyes met and his intensity matched mine, if not more so.

I nodded. “Yes,” I whispered. “So crazy.”

“I think I’ve been waiting my whole life for you.” Hollis said and my insides twisted before melting into nothing but a puddle of goo.

“Me too.” I said.

Hollis leaned forward.

Was he going to kiss me?

Oh how badly I wanted his lips on mine. It raced through my head since I first laid eyes on him.Kiss me, Hollis…please.

The waitress appeared and broke the spell. We laughed it off and ordered our food.

The dinner continued and after dessert, Hollis paid the check and drove me home.

The ride there I debated inviting him inside. I didn’t want the night to end yet. But was it too forward? Something told mehe wouldn’t mind but I couldn’t seem to bring the words to the surface.

When he pulled into my driveway, my stomach dropped to my feet.

Be a lady, get a kiss, say goodnight.

No, invite him inside and have the night of your life.

Or let him make the first move…

“I’ll walk you inside.” Hollis broke the silence as he parked his truck. Of course he would be nothing but a gentleman.

He helped me out of the truck and walked me to the front door. We stood facing each other, sexual tension radiating between us, but no awkwardness. He made me comfortable. And that I liked best.

“I had a great time tonight, Winona. Thank you. Can I see you again?”

“I’d like that.”

“Great.” He leaned forward and my lips tingled.

It was finally happening.

But before I could let it happen, I blurted out, “Come inside.”

“What?” He gasped and his eyes widened.

“I don’t want the night to end. I don’t think you do, either.” I stepped forward and did something I never thought I’d ever do.

I grabbed his shirt, pulled him against me, and kissed him.Hard.
