In this position, I can feel myself getting deeper and hitting spots I couldn’t with her on top of me. Avery starts picking up the pace, moaning and bouncing her ass over me. I can’t take it anymore. I grab her ass with my hand and squeeze her as she continues to work over me. Lifting my hand, I slap her ass cheek gently.
“Fuck yes, Connor.”
“Was that okay, Aves?”
“Yes. Again.” She continues to rock back and forth on my cock. This time, I lift my other hand and slap the other cheek.
Avery pounds down onto me and screams. “Connor! I’m coming!”
With my name on her lips, I find my own release and we come together as she continues to move up and down over my length. Her movements finally slow to a stop and as soon as she moves forward and steps off the bed, I immediately wish she hadn’t. I could’ve stayed buried inside of her the rest of the day if she let me.
Avery walks to the side of the bed, but when she shifts toward the bathroom, I reach out and grab her hand.
“Get over here, Aves.”
She squeals when I pull her onto the bed, her back resting against my chest. Her head is nestled on my shoulder, so I lean forward and press my lips to hers. When I pull back to look at her, her eyes are still closed, but she has the most content look on her face. I place featherlight kisses on her eyelids which causes her to giggle and finally open them.
“Hey,” I say, brushing her hair off her forehead.
“Hey, yourself.” She purses her lips together, fighting a laugh and it makes my heart swell in my chest.
How did we even get here? It was just earlier this season that I was desperate to be in her space, showing up at team functions I’d normally skip because being around people is not my idea of a good time. Now, here we are, playoffs just around the corner, and the woman of my dreams is naked in my bed. No, not just a woman.
My wife.
Avery smiles now, her eyes bouncing between mine. “What are you thinking about?”
“Just thinking about how much I love you.”
Her smile grows and that dimple I thought I’d never get the chance to kiss again makes its appearance. Before it disappears, I lean down and press my lips to it.
“God, I love that dimple.”
She giggles and turns, wrapping her arms around my neck. “Well, get used to it,husband. I plan on smiling a lot during this marriage.”
The entrance to the players’ parking lot is swarming with press when I turn onto the street where the gate is. Avery and I both got a phone call from the Bobcats’ GM, Jerry, asking us to come to the arena early before practice today, but he didn’t mention this madhouse.
“Oh my gosh! All this because we’re married?”
Avery leans forward in my truck, her eyes surveying the sea of cameras and microphones at the gate. Luckily, a few security guards run out when they see me approaching, and guide the crowd away from the road.
Slowly, I inch my truck forward, careful not to get too close to the people trying to get to our windows.
“Don’t look at them, Aves. Look at me.”
I wait until her eyes are on me before I continue my way into the parking lot. The gate shuts behind me and I see Avery look behind us.
“Do you think it will be like this when we leave today, too?”
Turning the truck into an open space, I put it in park and shift to face her. “Maybe. Hopefully that’swhat Jerry and the PR team want to talk to us about. Not that I plan on answering any of their stupid questions.”
Avery’s mouth twitches, and I lean across the center console to give her a peck on the lips.
“Let’s go get this over with.”
Hand-in-hand, we make our way into the arena and straight up to the conference room Jerry told us to meet him in.
When I push the door open, I see Jerry, Lincoln, Ellie, and our head of PR, Becky, already seated around the large table at the center of the room. My feet freeze in place. No one says anything at first, but I don’t miss the way everyone’s eyes move to where Avery’s grip tightens around my hand.
