***Most importantly, tell no one the truth and do not under any circumstances develop real feelings.

“Holy shit, Battenberg, this is intense.” He tore his wide eyes away from the screen and stared at me. “Wait a second, I can’t even tell Killian?”

“No!” I shrieked. “Especially not him. If he knows, he won’t be able to keep it from Lexi and then she’ll tell Cordelia. They’re besties.”

He let out a groan and dragged his hand over his face. “But Lorelei, he’s going to kill me.”

“Come on, you can’t stand up to your best friend? Just tell him how great I am in the sack. He should remember after all.”

His expression soured, lips puckering. “You had to go there, didn’t you?”

“It’s not like you and your Sigma Delts don’t pass around sorority girls like it’s your day job. What’s the big deal?”

“I don’t know. It just feels wrong lying to Killian and the other guys. We’ve been through so much together… They knowhow to keep secrets.” A hard line slashed across his lips. “I thought I could at least tell them.”

“That’s a hard no, Ax. We can’t tell anyone or the deal’s off.”

He heaved out a sigh. “Fine, you drive a hard bargain, Ms. Battenberg. What else?”

“Now we have to fill in the subsections.”

His eyes rolled so hard only the whites showed.

“Obviously we should be exclusive…” I added.

“Obviously.” He smirked.

“And if Cordelia does come around begging you to take her back, which she totally will, you must be a gentleman and tell her you have to break things off with me first, got it? None of this going behind my back shit.”

“Fair enough.” He scanned the screen, lingering on certain bullet points longer than others. “Dinner with your family?”

“Just one. Daddy has to believe I have a future with you.”

“Fine,” he grumbled. Once he finished scrolling down the page, he turned to me. “What if something happens, and we need out of the deal before the end of the summer?”

My lips twisted at the thought of being forced into the waiting arms of my cruel fiancé. “It has to be mutual.”

“So if Cordi wants me back in a month, I have to wait?”

I nodded. “You know how Cordelia is. Once she finds out you’re unattainable, it’ll just make you all the more attractive.”

“You’re not wrong there, blondie.” A grin tugged at his lips. “What do you think of that one?”

“Keep working on it, babe.”
