She hesitated, lost in the rhythm, her movements faltering for a second. I pinched her nipples firmly between my fingers, twisting just enough to make her cry out sharply, and thrust up harder, faster, driving into her with renewed force. The wet sounds of our bodies meeting filled the air. "Say it," I demanded, voice rough with need, my own release barreling toward me.

"I love you," she finally moaned, the words spilling out as another wave of pleasure crashed over her. "I love you, Matvey. God, I love you so much!"

The second the words left her mouth, something primal snapped inside me. My hips snapped up wildly, uncontrollably, as I came hard, pulsing deep inside her in thick, powerful spurts. The intensity shocked me—I had never come this uncontrollably before. A raw pleasure flooded me and left me shaking.

Riley's own orgasm hit her moments later, her walls clenching around me rhythmically, milking every last drop from me. She cried out my name like a prayer, her body convulsing in my arms.

She collapsed onto my chest, breathing hard, her soft, curvy body draped over me like she belonged there. I stayed buried inside her for a long time, my arms wrapped tightly around her waist, stroking up and down her back in soothing patterns. Neither of us wanted to separate. Her heart hammered against mine, our skin sticky with sweat, but it felt perfect. I pressedkisses to her forehead, her temple, whispering praises against her hair. "You're everything, Riley. So beautiful. So mine."

Eventually, she rolled off and lay beside me on the bed, though our legs remained tangled. We stayed there, wrapped in the sheets, hearts still racing, the air thick with the scent of sex and satisfaction. My hand traced lazy circles over the curve of her hip, down to the softness of her thigh, marveling at how perfectly she fit against me. In the quiet aftermath, I pulled her closer, tucking her head under my chin.

The vibration of my phone shattered the moment. It was a message from Anton reminding me of an important meeting coming up soon. I put the phone away and got up.

Time with Riley always felt too short. I had to leave now—even though I craved her like water, air, and food.

"Riley, I'll arrange a new place for you." I straightened my shirt. "Don't stay in this dump anymore."

"You're leaving?" She curled up under the covers, only half her face showing.

Damn, that reluctant look in her eyes melted me. Her eyes were still wet, her cheeks flushed—all because of me.

"Yeah, I have some work to handle. I'll send people over to move your things later."

Her eyes filled with doubt at my first words.

"You're rushing off to see Veronica, aren't you?" She pulled the covers over her head completely, hiding her beautiful face from me. "I'm not moving. I don't want your charity."

"It's not charity..." And it had nothing to do with Veronica.

"What else is it then?" She cut me off. "Our deal didn't include this."

Her muffled voice left me unsure how to respond. I had always known she wasn't some meek little thing.

"It's an order." That was all I could say.

"No, I said no!" Her voice cracked with tears. "You always do whatever you want. Have you ever thought about how I feel?"

"You show up out of nowhere, then disappear just as suddenly. You make me say I love you, but what about you? Do you love me? You give me hope and then crush it. What exactly do you want?"

Her breathing came fast and uneven. I stepped forward and yanked the covers away. Those tear-filled, red-rimmed eyes stared straight at me. The sight nearly broke my heart.

Truth was, I wanted to tell her everything and stay by her side, protect her, and tell Veronica and the bratva to go to hell. But reality wouldn't allow it.

She was so young and innocent. She shouldn't be dragged into the underworld's conflicts or become a pawn in these dirty deals. Ignorance was the safest protection.

"As long as our arrangement isn't over, you have to listen to me." I held back from wiping her tears. "Just do what I say."

She sank deeper into the mattress, curling up even tighter.

I didn't dare look too closely at her pitiful expression and turned to leave.

I knew I shouldn't keep secrets from her, but to keep her safe, I had no other choice.

The next morning, I woke up exhausted and irritable.

I added a few extra sets to my workout routine just to make myself look presentable before heading to the office.

"Matvey, you're late." The moment I walked into my office, Veronica's voice greeted me.
