“Come on, Berlin. I know what this label means to you. I’d never let it just sit by the wayside. It’s your baby.”
“It’sourbaby,” I corrected. “But I want to make it very clear to you that I love you and our marriage and it’s you and me till the end, Twin, even when I’m running around and trying to figure shit out. This is never in question. Being with you and loving you is never some shit I have to figure out. ”
“Yeah, me neither. You’re stuck with me forever.”
“Forever,” I repeated.
Myome reached up and massaged the back of my scalp.
“You’re the biggest and best part of my life.”
“Yeah?” I licked my lips and bit down on the bottom one while I stared into her pretty ass face.
“Mhm.”
“Good because mine too and I’m here now, Yo. We got my dad figured out and I’m ready to start jumping back in with you. I’m here.”
“Okay.” She nodded then shifted.
My hands went to her waist while she threw a leg over my body and lowered herself into my lap. I leaned back. Her hand scraped the back of my neck while she lowered her mouth to mine.
I groaned and she smiled against my mouth. I slid my hands beneath her shirt. She took over and yanked it over her head. My eyes raked over her body and I reached back to unhook her bra.
Home sweet fucking home.
CHAPTER 20
MYOME
“Have you listened to your husband's new album?” Charm asked.
“What?” My head snapped in her direction as I set my bag on the studio sofa.
“Drix’s new album?” she repeated slowly.
“He released his album?” My voice rose and I reached into my purse to fumble for my phone.
“Yeah. He released his album and the people are definitely talking about it. He dropped in the middle of the night with no promo. It’s a long album too, sixteen songs.”
“Fuck.” I opened up my music app, typed his name in, and watched his new album pop up.
Hendrixxx.
It was sixteen songs with limited features—me, Shade, Genie, Dashawn, and Rome. Me, Charm, Sundaze, Bino, Jameer, and an artist by the name of Lilliana were all listed as background vocals. The album cover was a simple picture of him sitting sideways on a stool in the studio, a cloud of smoke coming out of his mouth.
I scrolled through the track list and paused.
He named a song after me.
“Shit. You really didn’t know?” Charm asked.
“Nope. This is news to me, girl.”
“Do you want to listen to some of it while we wait for Retta?” She wagged her eyebrows.
“Hell yeah. Let’s do it.”
“Alright. This is the intro and of course it’s named Drix. It’s thirty seconds.” Charm danced a little in her seat then pressed play.
