“These look fire.” I nodded as I looked them over. “I fuck with it.”

“Yeah. We were worried for a minute there when you decided you wanted to change up the design, but this looks amazing, Drix.”

“Thank you.” I set the pair in my hand down and glanced over at a different color.

“I’ll get the line organized and start letting people in, in five minutes,” Marianna offered.

“A’ight.”

“Well, let me go see if I can get a video of the line.” Chandler quickly pulled her phone out.

“Ay.” I grabbed her arm before she could make it too far. “When you get a chance, I need everything you can get on Kevo.”

Her face scrunched in confusion.

“The country singer?”

“Yeah. I need to know what he likes and dislikes and where he lives at the minimum.”

“Okay. I’ll see what I can do.”

“Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.”

I let her go and followed her out. She headed to the front door and I headed to the table stacked with headphones.

People poured in soon after and I took pictures, signed headphones, CDs, and vinyl records, and let a few kids rap to me for several hours before we ran out of product and had to call it a day. It had been a cool little event and several people asked to get pictures with Rome and Myome as well.

Once we were done, I thanked everyone who’d stayed late for attending and Rome and I loaded my two boxes into my trunk.

“So I got what you asked for,” Chandler announced as I slammed it shut.

“Let me hear it.”

“Kevo is a country music star who got big writing love songs dedicated to his childhood sweetheart. He has several hits and has won plenty of awards, but he still stays in Miller’s Pointe. He says he’ll never move because the house he lives in is his wife’s dream house. He doesn’t go on tour often and flies home when there are any gaps in performance days. The band he performs with is the same band he’s always performed with. He hates the electric guitar and paparazzi and has no real social media. He claimed his name as a likeness but he onlyever posts performance announcements and deletes them after the performance. He’s very big on family and community and cannot stand big arenas. He’s still performing in clubs and bars packed to the brim. He said it feels intimate.”

I nodded at all of that. “Thanks, Chan.”

“I haven’t given you the best part.” My sister smiled. “He’s performing tonight, two hours away, and I was able to score you two tickets for the show.”

“You’re a fucking angel.”

“Thank you. Thank you.” She dusted her shoulders off. “The only issue is the concert starts in like thirty minutes.”

“So I need to head out now,” I decided out loud and looked at Rome. “You want to ride?”

“Hell yeah. Let’s go.”

I yanked my door open and leaned through it.

“Ay, Twin. I gotta chase an artist. You good if I hit the road?”

“Uh, yeah. Go.” She nodded and waved me off.

“You sure?”

“Yeah. Positive. Get the artist.”
