Our wet bodies pressed together and I kissed his throat again.

“Myome King.” Drix grabbed my throat and tilted my head back. He locked eyes with me. “Don’t piss me off, baby. We’ve already got a long day ahead of us.”

“If it becomes a problem, I’ll let you know, but as of right now I’m a big girl and can handle my own shit.”

His eyes searched mine then he nodded.

“A’ight, but if that changes and you can’t handle it, let me know.”

“I will. I promise.”

I kissed Drix’s throat again then his shoulder and chest. I kissed my way down his body until I was on my knees in front of him.

I didn’t waste any time grabbing his already straining dick and swallowing it down my throat.

“Fuck, Yo. You’re so good at that shit, baby,” Drix praised.

I moaned around his dick and bobbed my head a little fast, swirling my tongue and choking myself the way he liked.

After he came down my throat, he helped me to my feet and dropped to his knees, easily hoisting my leg over his shoulder and feasting on my pussy until I came twice.

Afterwards, we showered together and headed out for lunch with my parents.

When we got there, they were already seated and waiting for us. They both stood as we made our way to the table.

“You lead and I’m gon’ follow, Twin,” Drix whispered.

I nodded and he ran his hand along the small of my back before letting me go. Each of my parents surprisingly hugged me once I was close enough and I glanced over when my dad tried to shake Drix’s hand. He cast a quick look at me but shook my dad’s hand and pulled my chair out for me.

“What’s up?” He gave my mom a smile but waited for me to sit before he sat.

“Good to see the two of you,” my father said.

“Nice to see you too, man.” Drix adjusted in his seat and I reached over and set a hand on his knee. He placed his hand on mine.

“We were surprised to hear that the two of you wanted to meet up honestly,” my mom said. “I mean, we weren’t exactly on the best terms after the last time we saw each other.”

“Yeah, well, family is very important to Drix and I don’t know, I want my family to be around more too. I don’t want to act like you guys don’t exist. I mean, I love Drix and his family but…”

“It’s not the same,” Drix finished my sentence and squeezed my hand.

My dad exhaled.

“Well, despite any of the bumps we may have had, we want you to know that we love you, Myome, and we may be hard on you but that’s just because we care about you and we want you to have a better life than the life we had,” my dad said softly.

“Yeah. When your father was a musician, he was always gone. There was never any money. He was overworked and we were barely scraping by. He missed the birth of your brother. It was… hard.”

“And loving your children means you want better for them than you had,” my dad added. “I’m not upset that you have a chance at making it, Myome. I’m worried about what will happen to you if you do.”

“And if you don’t,” my mom said. “Pouring your everything into something for it to not pan out is just as harmful as letting this industry swallow you whole.”

“We never wanted music for you,” my father confessed. “But we do love you.”

“I appreciate you guys worrying about me, but you don’t have to. I’m an adult now and I know what I want and don’t want and what I’m willing to do and not do to make it in the industry. I just want you both to trust that you raised me well enough to navigate this stuff and make my own choices.” I glanced at Drix. “All of them,” I stressed. “Which includes my husband. We’ve been married for over a year. He’s not going anywhere and I don’t want to have to choose between y’all. That’s a messed up position to put me in, and honestly, you wouldn’t like my decision.”

My mother pursed her lips but didn’t respond. She looked at my father instead.

“We hear you, Myome, and we support you. Part of loving your children is knowing when to let them go. So we’re going to keep loving you but we’re taking our hands off of you and this music thing. Do what you want and we’ll just hope for the best and pray for you.”
