“Ground rules, huh?” he asked, his hands gripping my waist before moving lower.
“Yes. We’ve–shit.”
His hands kneaded my ass as he grinded my hips on his dick. I was losing the battle, but I had to stay strong.
“We need rules, Set. We’ve known each other too long. I used to call you Case–”
“Aight. I get it.” He stopped his teasing to scoot up so that we were facing each other. “What rules you thinking of?”
“Well, for one, if we fuck, you’re wrapping up. Every time.”
“Done. I don’t run up in nobody raw.”
“Don’t be telling your bros our business either.”
“I don’t even be bragging on my shit, Wyn. What bitch you know for sure I fucked? Exactly.”
I rolled my eyes, not willing to admit he was right.
“That shouldn’t change now that you dipping into Miss Snowflake. Don’t be out here embarrassing me. You were allon me last night, and you know how people talk. Don’t give no bitches a reason to try and talk shit about me.”
Set grinned, dimples puncturing his peanut butter cheeks. “I’on know. I may like you fighting over me.”
I dug the tips of my nails into his skin, making him hiss. “Get fucked up if you want. Oh, and last thing. Don’t fall in love with me. I’m all twisted up, and I don’t want you caught up in my bullshit.”
I tried to play it off like I was joking, but it didn’t fool Set. Of course it wouldn’t.
“You talking to the king of twisted up, Wyn. But I got you. No getting caught up in our feelings. You sure you can handle that?”
“They don’t call me the Ice Princess for no reason, Mr. Set It Off.” I wrapped a hand around his neck and put some pressure on his veins. Heat pooled in his eyes, but before I could lean in to kiss him, his phone began vibrating.
We both sighed as he grabbed it. His whole demeanor changed, and I slid off of him.
“I’ma take you home. You can wear my slides out.”
He went into his closet and came out in joggers, a hoodie, and some sneakers, and handed me some sweats to put on. His slides swallowed my feet, but I was over the heels.
Shad was poised to knock once Set opened the door. The first thing I noticed was a blue rose taking up the entire side of his neck, like the ones covering Turkey’s arm, and Set’s hand.
Shad looked between me and Set, his eyebrows pulling more and more.
“Shouldn’t you be at school?” Set asked as we poured into the hallway.
He walked behind us, all dark and broody. “Pops told me I’m with you today.”
“Negative. I’ll take you to school and then I’ll get you from Sean’s later today. You ain’t coming with me.”
We left the house and got into Set’s beamer. He got on his phone before he got inside, and walked away to take it.
“How you been–”
“You fucking Set now?” Shad asked, cutting me off. He twisted himself in the front seat to peer at me.
I didn’t fuck him. Not yet. But I didn’t want to tell Shad.
“You know, it took Trippy six months to get out of the hospital. You ain’t visit once… he asks me about you.”
I blinked as I began to bite the skin on my lip. His gaze turned intense, and my chest began to pull.
