Rico’s eyes were void of anything. He glanced at Tyree before meeting my gaze again.

His eyes were flat like this the last time we had it out, and yet it was all wrong. Even then, I knew there were emotions. Deep down, but still there.

There was nothing now. Complete emptiness.

My chest cracked.

Just as Turk grabbed my shoulder and shook.

“You hear me talkin’ to you?! The fuck you been, Wyn? Huh? Answer me!”

“You’re hurting me,” I whimpered, but he only squeezed harder.

Until Tyree pulled him off of me and stood in front of me.

“Oh, that’srich,” Auty snorted. Fredo made it to her, and she curled into his side.

“She not the enemy–”

“Bullshit! That bitch ruined my fuckin’ life!” Auty roared, lunging for me. Fredo wrapped his arms around her waist, but even he had a hard time pulling her back.

“Where she been, Ty-Ty?” Rico asked.

“Rick,” Tyree sighed. I’d seen and heard them go back and forth numerous times, but I didn’t think Tyree was capable and really lying to his cousin.

Rico smirked and glanced over his shoulder, before rushing Tyree.

They dissolved into fists immediately. From one side of my front lawn to the other, they fought, each hit from each boy connecting.

“Stop them!” I cried, but Fredo stood there, mumbling something to Auty as she glared at me.

Turk was no better, waving me off and stomping off toward his house.

I turned toward Tyree and Rico and ran to them. Rico had Tyree on the ground, his shirt in one hand as he punched him repeatedly in the face.

“Get off him!” I shrieked, grabbing at his back.

He turned faster than I could realize, pushing me off him into the lawn. The wind was knocked out of me, which made him do a double take.

His scowl was murderous. His hand reached behind him, grabbing his gun before turning around and aiming it at Tyree.

“You ready to die ‘bout this bitch, Ty-Ty?”

“Ricky!” Fredo yelled, finally coming to rein in his brother.

But it was too late. I heard it in his tone.

“The pussy fire, so I give you that. But is you really ready to die ‘bout it?” His hand shot out, fisting his shirt and pulling a dazed Tyree up until the barrel of his gun was pressed into his cut forehead.

“Where. The fuck. Was she?!” he screamed.

“Rick, come on. Let it–”

“I ain’t letting shit go!” Rico let Tyree go to push Fredo away, then swung around to aim his gun at me.

“Don’t fuckin’ make me repeat myself, bitch. The fuck was you while you sold yo sister out to some wannabe pimps?!”

Fredo began yelling in Spanish, turning Rico’s head toward him to try to get him to listen.
