The heat surrounding me was becoming uncomfortable. Mac’s heavy arm was draped across my body, and while I didn’t want to move out of his embrace, I needed to check in on Evelyn. Mac had asked Wolf to watch out for her, but I was still feeling a little guilty for leaving her behind last night.

Trying to slip out from under the covers quietly, I sat up only to have Mac’s arms tighten around me. “Where’re you going?”

“I need to go check on Evelyn,” I explained, managing to finally break free of his hold and stand up.

“Evelyn’s fine. Wolf was watching her.”

“That’s what I’m worried about,” I joked. I had seen Wolf at the clubhouse, and he almost always had some random girl hanging all over him.

“Why?” he asked.

“It’s just, Evelyn’s a sweet girl.”

“Oh, and you’re worried the big bad Wolf had his way with her?” he chuckled.

“Maybe.”

I looked around for something to put on, but only saw my dress since all my clothes were still in my room next door. I turned to Mac and saw him sliding on his jeans. He was going commando, and I had no idea why that was hot, but...god, it was.

He caught me staring and flashed me a sexy grin. “You look like you’re ready to go another round.”

As tempting as that was, I really did need to get dressed and check on Evelyn.

“Actually, I was going to ask you to go next door and get my clothes.” I tried to sound like his shirtless body had no effect on me, but I was sure I failed.

“Sure thing, babe.” He winked at me.

Just as he reached for the handle, we heard a knock. I quickly covered up with the sheet, but stayed where I could see who it was. As Mac pulled the door open, I was surprised to see Wolf on the other side.

“Have a good night?” he asked as he walked right past Mac and into the room.

He took in the scene in front of him—a half-dressed Mac and me, obviously naked under the sheet.

“Fuck off,” Mac responded as he moved to block Wolf’s view of me.

“Just wanted to come over and let you know Evelyn is fine. She’s still sleeping, and I didn’t fuck her.” He looked at me when he said that.

Suddenly, I was embarrassed. If he heard that, I could only imagine what else he must have heard through the thin walls last night “Umm…”

I could hear both Mac and Wolf laughing at my embarrassment.

“I also thought you might want your things,” Wolf said, as he tried to step closer to hand me my bag.

“Thank you. And I didn’t mean anything bad about you maybe hooking up with Evelyn. I know how irresistible you guys can be. I’m trying to watch out for my friend.”

“No worries, Kate. It’s all good.”

“Dude, move away from my girl,” Mac growled.

Wolf just shook his head, laughing. “See you guys later.”

“Was that necessary?” I asked as soon as the door closed behind Wolf.

“Yes. He doesn’t need to be looking at what’s mine since he’s apparently irresistible.”

I rolled my eyes. “Someone sounds jealous.”
