Jackpot…but also there’s no way this kid kidnapped Sheri.

I grab the kid by his throat and lift him up against the wall. Vex made this look much easier than it is when he did it to me. “You don’t harass women ever. Do you understand me? The text messages stop now. Do you understand me?”

The kid nods his head.

“If I hear about you harassing another woman, I’ll be back, and that discussion will be less than pleasant. Also, take a shower and clean up. Be the man your mother needs, not a whiny boy.”

The kid’s eyes bulge out.

“Got me?”

He nods.

“Good. You can start now. I’ll be checking in to make sure you’re making good choices.” I drop the kid to the ground and walk away.

This was a waste of time.

Where is she?

I message the kid.

Fly

Found him. He doesn’t have Sheri. Keep looking.

Whiz Kid

What do you mean he doesn't have Sheri? Is she missing?

Fly

Yes.

There has to be a clue in her car. I need to go through her car.

Lost Not Found

Fly

There’s got to be something, some little clue I missed, something.

“Where did you disappear to, young man?” The little old lady pops up as I reach Sheri’s car.

“My woman is missing. I believe she might have been kidnapped. I’m going to search through her car to see if I can find some clues.”

“Oh dear. I was afraid of that. I’ll call my grandson. He’ll come help. He’s very good at these sorts of things.”

Her grandson is most likely the local cop. I don’t hate cops, but they also make doing what needs to be done harder. “I’d prefer if you didn’t.”

She stops moving and raises her eyes to me. “Do you know what you’re doing?”

“Yes, ma’am.” I know exactly what I’m doing and what I’m going to do when I find her.

“And you are aware of the possible repercussions?”

I know how to disappear and make a body disappear. “Yes, ma’am.”

“You love her that much.”
