“Fuck,” he groans, his eyes lifting back to mine. “I missed this.” One hand comes up to my face, his thumb brushing over my mouth before his fingers slide into my hair. “Missed your mouth,” he says roughly. “Missed these eyes.” His hips roll again, slow enough to make me whimper. “Missed that fucking attitude of yours that drives me insane.”
He fucks me slow, keeping his eyes on mine as if he needs to see every reaction, needs to burn it into his memory. His hand finds mine and laces our fingers together, pinning them above my head, and the way he looks at me feels like my heart is going to crack in two.
He leans down and kisses my chest, right over my heart. “Don’t leave me,” he whispers against my skin, pressing kisses up my body, over my collarbones, the base of my throat.
His mouth finds my cheek, then the corner of my mouth, then my eyelids, kissing me everywhere. It should feel soft compared to the way he’s driving into me, but it doesn’t. It feels desperate.
“I love you,” he says, his voice breaking when he thrusts deeper. “Fuck, Aurora, I need you. I can’tbreathewithout you.
I lift my hand and cup his face. His throat moves when our eyes meet, and I notice his damp lashes, the raw, unguarded look in his eyes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him this open. “Don’t ever leave me again.”
“Don’t give me a reason to,” I whisper.
He shakes his head immediately and drops his forehead to mine, his breath coming hard, still inside me.
“I won’t,” he says. “I’ll spend the rest of my life loving you the way you should’ve been loved from the start.” His thumb brushes my cheek, his eyes holding mine. “I’ll wake up every day with one purpose, Aurora. To love you. To make you happy. To spend my life being the man who deserves to keep you.”
His words make my heart thud against my chest. It feels like it’s trying to crawl out of my skin and attach itself to him.
Cole doesn’t say things like this and I never once thought he’d say them to me. It makes me feel wanted in a way I’ve never had before. Not chased after or desired for a night, but trulyloved.
I want to drown in this feeling because I never thought I’d have it. Never thought I’d be the girl someone could love with this much certainty.
My hand slides down his back, and I grab his ass, dragging him deeper into me, needing him closer even though there’s nowhere left for him to go.
He drives into me deeper, harder, and I dig my nails into him, my head falling back against the pillow as the pleasure rolls through me, climbing higher and higher until I can’t catch my breath.
“Cole—”
My voice breaks on his name, and his mouth crashes into mine again, swallowing the sound as he keeps moving, each thrust knocking the air from my lungs until I come apart around him, moaning into his mouth, my fingers tangled tight in his hair.
He groans against my lips, and I feel the way he starts to lose it right after me. “Fuck—Aurora—I can’t hold out?—”
“Don’t,” I whisper, barely able to get the word out. I drag my hand into his hair and make him look at me. “I want it. Come inside me.”
He thrusts into me, deep enough to make my breath catch, then again, and then he comes with a wrecked groan as he keeps thrusting into me slowly until he finally stops, shivering from the overstimulation.
For a second after, neither of us moves. We just stay there, tangled up and breathing hard, my heart pounding so hard itfeels like it’s trying to crawl its way out of my throat. He kisses my neck first, then my shoulder, then the top of my chest like he doesn’t know how to stop touching me now that he’s got me here.
I don’t want him to.
He drops down beside me a second later, one arm falling over his face while he catches his breath, and I turn my head on the pillow to look at him.
He glances at me and smiles, then reaches for my hand, threading our fingers together before lifting it to his mouth and pressing a kiss to my knuckles so gently it makes my eyes flutter shut.
“Wow,” I tease, unable to stop smiling. “You really love me, don’t you?”
A laugh slips out of him and he tugs me in against his side. “Shut up.”
I grin and trace my fingers over his chest. “You’re being weirdly soft.”
“Now that you’re my girlfriend, I can be as soft as I want.”
I tilt my head back and blink up at him. “Your girlfriend?”
He arches a brow. “Did me telling you I love you not make that obvious?”
I stare at him for a second, then lift one shoulder. “I don’t know. Feels like I need more here. Maybe a boombox. Maybe a basket of puppies. A blood oath.”
