“Najee… fuck… this feels so good,” she gasped, voice shaky and whiny, nails digging into his shoulders. “Don’t stop… please…” He bit down harder. “That’s it…baby. Let it all go. I got you.”

The words, the steady rhythm, the way he held her like he wasn’t letting her hide — it all crashed over her at once. Her back arched hard, thighs shaking around his lap as the orgasm ripped through her. A broken, high moan tore from her throat, loud and needy, echoing softly in the private room. Her pussy clenched violently around his thick fingers, pulsing, creaming, soaking his hand and the front of his pants as wave after wave rolled through her. Najee didn’t stop. He kept stroking her through it, slow and deep, drawing it out until she was trembling and whimpering, completely undone in his lap. When the last tremor finally faded, he eased his fingers out of her with a wet glide, leaving her clenching around nothing, empty and pulsing. Thick, creamy strands of her arousal coated his two thick fingers, glistening under the low candlelight. “Open your mouth,” he commanded softly, holding the slick fingers right in front of her parted lips. She opened, sucking his fingers clean with lazy, hungry pulls, tongue swirling, cheeks hollowing, soft little moans vibrating against his skin. Najee watched her the whole time, dark eyes locked on her mouth, murmuring low. “That’s it… taste how sweet you get when you let go for me.” When he finally eased his fingers out with a wet pop, a thin string of saliva and her arousal stretched between them before breaking. He smeared the rest across her bottom lip, then kissed her slow and deep, tasting her on her own tongue. Jackie was still catching her breath, body buzzing, when he pulled her closer, so her head rested against his chest. She melted into him, completely relaxed, listening to the steady thump of his heartbeat. The weight she’d beencarrying all night. Hell, for the last two years finally cracked open just a little. Her eyes grew heavy, damn near drifting toward sleep in his arms. He pressed a slow, soothing kiss to her temple, his hand stroking up and down her back with steady comfort. “This was for you, not me,” he said quietly, voice low and certain as she lay there undone on his chest. “You needed that release. You deserved it.” Jackie let out a shaky breath, her body still buzzing, the weight of everything she’d been holding finally cracking open just a little.

A soft knock sounded at the door. Najee’s hand immediately slid down, tugging her dress lower to cover her properly so she wouldn’t be exposed. He kept one arm wrapped around her as the concierge lady stepped in, carrying a sleek black shopping bag. “Dr. Amin-Rashid,” she said politely, “we didn’t have an 8 in the slippers, but we did have an 8½. That should work.” She placed the bag gently beside the bench and gave a small nod before stepping back out. Jackie’s voice came out scratchy and soft, love-drunk and a little dazed. “Is those the wings?” she asked jokingly, still half-buried against his chest.

Najee chuckled, the sound low and warm in his throat.

“Nah. It’s something comfortable you can wear home.”

“So no wings?” she said, fake-pouting, voice fading as she nuzzled back into him. He gave her ass a light slap to get her attention. She jumped a little, finally giving him full eye contact.

“After you get dressed, we can go get the wings, okay?”

“Okay,” she mumbled, nodding against his chest as their eyes met again, soft, heavy, and full of everything neither of them was ready to say out loud yet.

It was a little after 2:30AM when they finally left the lounge. They ended up riding through Midtown with the windows cracked, the city humming low around them. Najee drove likehe didn’t have anywhere to be but right beside her. Jazmine Sullivan’s“BPW”played softly in the background as he kept one hand gripping her thigh. Jackie hadn’t felt this good in years. Maybe it was the post-orgasm fog, but she hadn’t felt this safe with another person either. She didn’t want to overthink it, but she couldn’t help wondering what any of this really meant. Najee pulled up in front of David’s, and of course it was a line. Jackie started to say never mind, but before she knew it, he was already out the car.

Fifteen minutes later, he was exiting the store carrying three greasy brown paper bags. Back in the car, he handed her the salt-and-pepper wings and shrimp platter, plus an ice-cold bottle of peach Canada Dry. Jackie opened the container and moaned. “God is real.” Najee chuckled, pulling off slow from the curb. “You lucky you fine, ‘cause I normally don’t allow food in my car.”

She glanced over at him, mouth full. “Oh, so you one of those.”

“Abso-fucking-lutely.I take pride in my shit.”

She smirked, licking sauce off her fingers. “Mmhmm. You taking pride in me too?”

His eyes cut over, sharp and amused. “What you tryna say?” Jackie popped a shrimp in her mouth, chewed slow, then leaned back in her seat, eyes half-lidded.

“I’m saying, Dr. Nigel,” she murmured, voice thick with fake innocence, “you bein’ real nice to me tonight. Wings, champagne, orgasms, foot rubs… all this attention. Is this a setup?”

He didn’t even blink. Just tapped his ringless finger against the steering wheel.

“A setup?” She tilted her head, still chewing, still bold. “You want some pussy?”

Najee let that hang in the air for a whole second before pulling up to a red light and turning to look at her, full on. “Jackie Brown,” he said calmly, “if I wanted some pussy, I’d say that.” Her brow lifted. “Would you now?” He nodded once. “I ain’t never had to trick a woman into opening her legs. Especially a woman that had her legs open for me all night.” That shut her up instantly.

It was then she let out a nervous laugh and said what she really meant.

“So what’s this?” Najee kept his eyes on the road. “This,” he said, “is me enjoying your company. Feeding you. Listening to you talk too much. Sing off key and eat wings in my brand-new car while you disrespect my intentions” Jackie sucked her teeth, smirking. “Whatever, Nigel.”

“It’sDoctorNigel,” he corrected, reaching over and stealing a shrimp.

“But you can keep the title when you straddle me again.”

Jackie’s mouth dropped open, fake offended. “Boy—” The light turned green, and he didn’t even flinch. Just turned the music up, slid his hand back between her thighs, and took the scenic way home. He drove through Chinatown, then over to Fairmount, past the Art Museum and along Boathouse Row, before finally hitting Kelly Drive and cutting through North Philly. They pulled up to her block a little after 3AM and since it was Friday night? Jackie’s block wasalive. The crackheads and dope boys were in rare form. Jackie saw Najee clock it instantly, and she could see the concern written all over his face. He cut the engine and looked over. Jackie was already unbuckling fast, trying to cover the embarrassment that never fully left her in moments like this.

“I would invite you up,” she said softly, “but it’s kind of cold in there tonight, so…”

He didn’t miss a beat. “Why is it cold? Your gas off or something?” She blinked.

“What? No. Nah.”

“Then why’s it cold?” he pressed, his eyes locking onto hers. His demeanor was calm, but his tone was serious. More serious than it had been all night. Jackie sighed hard, irritation spiking.

“It’s an old-ass house, Najee. The radiators be actin’ up. You gotta jiggle the valves sometimes, wait for the clanking’ to stop. It’s not that deep.” His expression didn’t shift, just sharpened a little. “Where’s Max?” Jackie’s spine straightened, voice sharper than she meant.

“Not in the fucking house by himself.” She turned to open the door, annoyed, but his hand caught her wrist gently, firm and impossible to shake. “I wasn’t pressing you,” he said quietly.

“I was just asking.” She exhaled, the tension slipping from her shoulders.
